I really enjoyed this video. Simon the likeable is such a great bloke and he has a calming influence in all his videos. This video reinforced how important it is to have a routine, ALWAYS execute the routine, play within your limits, commit and play each hole with full commitment. Just loved it! Love these videos, really informative and super helpful even for a higher handicap golfer. Simon is great at talking through the game without over complicating but at the same time explaining all the shit scenarios and yes don't beat yourself up too much because the next hole might reward you. I could watch that man play golf all day long! I use the fade and draw with the regrip after adjusting open or closed face as well, makes sense to me for them curved shots. Simon, you are a gem! Ending the 18 hole with a -1 is a great result.

Good old fashioned type player, no ego at all just solid golf & not afraid to run the ball where necessary excellent video, there is more to this game than hitting it a mile, as someone once said you can't hit it as far as Tiger but you can chip & putt like him, so true...well done Liam btw your Mrs must be understanding letting you free in Australia, mine won't let me go to the antique Market at Bolton FC.....🤫

Simon is the Man! What a great video with a great bloke. Wish we could see more of Simon. The friendly positive calm way he speaks is inspiring. For me it's Simons attitude that's key. Keep calm, plan out each hole and don't over react to bad shots. We're all going to hit some, even scratch golfers and tour pros. I love his tips to draw and fade. I've always closed or opened the stance as well, this seems much easier. I'm going to try it this week! Brilliant video Liam.

So far this is my fav video. Simon is an absolute legend - not just in this video but in all the videos I have seen him in so far. He is such an easy going friendly guy, not to mention a brilliant golfer. The encouragement he always gives is great to see and hear. I've watched loads of instructional golf videos but I've yet to come away with as much "practical" knowledge as I have from this video. THanks to Simon for making this an amusing, easy-to-understand video chock full of useful information on the mental aspect of the game as well as the practical useful skill on how to make certain shots. Thanks too to Liam for asking the right questions as in hole 18 when he asked Simon how he draws and fades the ball. Brilliant stuff! I can't wait to put this newfound knowledge to work for me. Love how Simon makes everything so relaxed and Explains everything in a simple manner. hitting the low shot took Simon about 1 minute, ball back in stance centre of gravity in front of ball. i have seen some golfers take 10 mins to explain the same thing. Great that you went to visit Simon and Eve, Liam. Been an excellent addition to the channel and of course you made great friends. Thanks Golfmates and Simon for some great tips for us all to take to the course.

Great video and Mr. Payne deserved the 1 under score. He is a classic, not just because he's rocking those classic shoes and plays without technology, but his smooth buttery swing. He has every shot in the bag. He is great at conveying how to think through every shot before trying to execute it. Slow down, commit, light grip = awesome.

Liam, thank you for this. In order for a golfer to play scratch, you have to be a decent ball striker but it is the mindset on every shot that determines scratch to a bunch over. I love this for 2 reasons: I love Simon and I love his outlook and his sharing his thought processes. I am pursuit of scratch, currently at 5.5. Also love him supporting the All-Blacks!!
