Depends what your like from 100 yards in to be honest mate. Also, big difference is putting... good pros make a massive number of putts from inside The magic 7ft. I play off 7 and make about half of them, if I could make 2 or 3 more per round I would be much closer to scratch! Simply put tho, no.... it’s not all about driving.

I am a senior who is distance impaired. I play senior tee boxes. I hit straight and make putts. Distance is my single greatest handicap. Watching OMP has helped my game more than anything else to date. Thank you OMP for teaching me that bogey golf is actually ok.

I've just picked up golf at 33 and play bogey golf when playing 1ball. Helps take the pressure off. When playing with mates we play normal par, I've gone from 132 down to 110. And I've only been playing for 3 months and not as often as I'd like.

Great video, nice to see Pete again, iam keeping this video for all time, its nice to see small golfers (iam a 65 year old 5ft 3'' 17 hp) instead of all bean poles, just look what Ian Woosnam did, I will be studying your swing Pete , hope you don't mind, anyway when iam playing with high towers and it rains , l never get wet because by the time the rain gets to me its stopped 😀 😊 😉, keep safe all golfmates.

Liam, would like to see Peter and you try this. Peter hits all the tee shots. You both walk to Peters ball then you drop a ball and you play out the hole using your ball and finish the hole and Peter keeps playing his ball

Great video! Being a scratch golfer is all about hitting greens in regulation. Liam, you’re still coming WAY over the top! You’ll never hit it like Peter off the tee unless you change your swing.

I think Pete is exactly right here. I would always rather a close chip to a hundred yard approach shot. We aren't Pros, so chance of getting it close from 100 yards is less than chipping on. This also gives you more practice with the Driver and hopefully more confidence. I'd love to see more of Pete, maybe with EBay or Josh. Also be a great game with Stu and Pete together.

Great video. Nice to see how the scratch player thinks. Interesting how Petes personality seems really chilled. Wonder if that calm personality helps him. I’m just returning to the game and a bad shot is normally followed by a lot of bad language and being a bit of a prat. Maybe it’s not just the course management but also the anger management! Great stuff Liam. I think Pete summed a big part of higher handicappers (myself included) in a sentence, when he said we tend to be short when attacking greens and putting. So taking one longer iron or being bolder when looking to improve is key. Easy to say of course. One tip when practicing putting is to put say 20 balls right on the edge of the green, a fair distance from the pin and see how many you can get past the pin but close to the hole. Using that as your focus helps you commit more to the shot and if practiced regularly should help the way you approach putting during games.

I cant play golf anymore (dodgy hip , innit!!) but I still love watching golf and this is a great insight into how a scratch golfer thinks and manages his game, hole by hole. But honestly the thing I enjoy most about your channels vids, is that they are great fun, its fun to watch people having fun.

I enjoyed watching big Pete. It's great to hear how he's planning each shot. I'm still going to play the OMP way myself as it knocked 15 off my total this week. Any golf mates know how to stop 3 inches of mud collecting on your trolley wheels in this crappy weather? (apart from not using it 😁) I think I was pushing another 3kg around. Lol

Well done Danny at the weekend. Thanks Liam for the long trousers. Today’s video I really enjoyed. I rarely get over 200yds with my Driver so I class a par as a birdie. I often take a extra shot (4&5) to get on the dance floor. If I am within 10ft I have a chance as not to bad with a putter. Great to see a smaller chap hit it so good and so far. It gives us all hope .

Hi Liam, I'm a golf mate from Scotland playing out of Kingsacre. i really like your content, especially Young Man Josh. he reminds me of when i was that age but i wasn't as good a striker of the Ball. you are a credit to the community you are in. it was interesting to watch your video above, i reckon that these scratch players these days can hit the ball any length the like with the clubs available to them, i always wonder if my game would improve if i had the clubs that are available today, i guess we will never know. ps i noticed that you are hiving away the Callaway Epic, Callaway being my favourite club maker i would love to be in the draw or however you intend to give the club away. Great video, thanks Joe. You said it early in the video Liam, you and many of us virtually never hit enough club on our approaches, so we routinely are short. Add 10 yards on your approaches and see what happens. Your other question, give me closer to the pin all day!!!!

This is a great idea…I remember Gary Player saying that if he played his opponents approach shots his opponents scoring would be much lower than if he took his drives…I guess you’ve just proved his theory 👍🏼
