**Rules of Street Dice: A Simplified Craps Game**
1) Roll dice to see who goes first, usually highest first.
2) Each player puts their ante into the pot.
3) A point is obtained for rolling a 7 or 11.
4) Penalties are paid for rolling a 2, 3, or 12 (craps).
5) Two points wins the pot, given the second point survives the challenge round (see Rule 9).
6) Rolling a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 (the numbers) is inconsequential, nothing happens, except when rolling doubles (See Rule 8: Rolling doubles, gives a re-roll).
7) The penalty for rolling a 2 or a 12 is to match the ante into the pot. The penalty for rolling a 3 is to put half the ante into the pot.
8) Rolling doubles, gives a re-roll. Rolling three doubles in a row eliminates the player from that game.
9) When a player acquires the second point, the game continues for one more round. If any of the other players roll a 7 or 11 they do not receive a point. Their 7 or 11 is used to cancel the second point of the player set to win the game. If a player’s second point gets cancelled, the dice go back to the player that the point got cancelled from and the game continues, i.e., the only way to win the pot is to acquire two points and be able to keep the second point through this last round challenge.

Thanks for the complement, F-KZfaq, just keep in mind that this is a very simplified dice game, just a teaser to craps focused on 7/11 and the Craps numbers. At some point I will definitely go over all the rules of full blown craps though, will be fun :)

I'm about to get back into making more math videos, and I still have this craps table on my wall as a decoration. Once we get into full math mode, especially since we are going to focus on dealing with fractions, might be a good time to go hard on the mathematics of playing craps :)

A fun rule could be if you win after 2 points you get the pot. Keep going until someone runs out of chips. Last person to run out of chips wins.

Thanks, grapes :) As for blackjack, I use to play a lot as well, as far as casino games go anyway, but once I learned how to play craps I never looked back. It's basically almost exclusively the only game I play now if I pay a visit to the casino ;)

Thanks for this, chycho! great variant! i was wondering though how side pots are supposed to work in this. i mean if my stack empties before anybody else's, will a side pot be created for the rest of the players? how then will i get a chance to win the main pot in this scenario? thanks again

If your stack runs out then you can only win the stack that you have contributed to. The overflow pot goes to the person that comes in second that has contributed to that pot, so the winner from the rest of the players that are still in the game. Hope that made sense :)

Hi Luca, great question, and there is a story to getting the new computer but i'll save that for another day. Looks like I'll be picking up the new system next week. Hopefully if won't take me long to load up the software and play around with it. If all goes well the first test live video should happen in a couple of weeks... fingers crossed. Thanks, there is actually a lot more to craps but this is a good start... and for Baccarat, that is the game they play in the Bond movie and it's actually a very simple game and has a very telling history about it. I'll put it on my to do list, thanks for the suggestion :)

In this variation, you dont need a craps table. You can play with only chips and dice.

Agreed, but once you add a few variation/additions, the craps table will definitely come in handy to keep track of who has placed what bets.

Your dice was worn out and it was around the time you uploaded your games with your gradmother i think. You said that when you had i complete record you should make this. Hope you can do it. Thanks for bringing this up, Kristofer. If you noticed, in this video I had one cut segment. What I edited out what the part where I talk about those videos and the data that we will be using and analyzing. I cut it out since i'm not yet ready to deal with that data set yet, still have to get the background math done for it, but once we are ready, most definitely we'll delve into it and see what we find out, especially if the die are fair based on the rolls we got. Apologies if this is taking way longer than what I initially stated, but as you can tell I do go off on a lot of tangents trying to share what I love and what I'm ready to create. By the way, very cool that you remembered. For me it's absolutely fantastic knowing that these videos are having an impact and still being enjoyed. Much love :)

I love the possibilities, of who we are, were we have come from, and what could possibly be awaiting us. As a geophysicist, it's the field that really got me hooked. I promise, once I lighten my load of videos I have lined up to do, especially the comic book reading, I'll start a whole series on this topic. It would be a pleasure, and thank you for the request.

The price you pay for getting your money onto a number from the PASS LINE and COME is to lock in the bet. That's because you would have been paid if a 7 or an 11 came up while moving onto the number. PLACE BETS though you should be able to take down.

You could have multiple options for that. One would be to split the pot, so any new penalties are placed in the side pot and those that still have money can only win that pot. The hardcore option would be that the person that can't pay is out.

When the person rolled 12 ( 2 6's) you did not let him roll again. Why not?? Takes to long to win I rather place my bets and win on every roll.

You just split the pot. The person that ran out of chips, if they win, then they only take the pot that they contributed to and the rest of the players continue the game until one of them wins the 'main' pot. If one of the other players wins first then they take it all.

May be a nice game to play with the kids etc. But when you want to win $$$$ This game takes too long. Place your bets hit 2-3 times take your profits. Also nowhere to bet the Don't or DC and they come up 52% of the time. This is more of a party game and not for fast cash.
