If the chopsticks don’t go back into the hand, then the next player would have one less card to choose from essentially - which is why it keeps coming back the round that it’s drawn in.

It’s possible! You don’t end up dealing the whole deck in this game, so it sounds like only one pair of chopsticks made it into play.

You can play sushi go party like it's the original. It's got a bunch of extra cards that you can choose not to play with. If you want something small and portable get sushi go. If you want more options and more players, get sushi go party.

When chopsticks are used, the chopsticks card goes back into your hand, to be passed to the next person. It's possible that the same card is used by multiple people.

Yes. The one with one icon in the top of the card contributes 1 to your maki roll total, the one with 2 icons gives 2, and 3 gives 3. The score that you compare with the other players is the total number of icons, NOT the number of cards.

Since we're passing the chopsticks to the next and everyone uses it, what happens when that deck of card runs out? Do we draw more cards or do we keep it that way until every deck is gone?
