🐹 How to Potty Train Your Hamster 🐹

Does your hamster pee in the wheel, tubes or bed? Do they pee but won't poop in the potty? Do they suddenly stop using the potty? Watch this!
Everything you need to know about potty training your hamster!
Potty: PPI Corner Loo (best potty ever!)
Litter: Kaytee Critter Litter
Disinfectant: Johnson's Clean 'n' Safe for small animals
Sand: Children's play sand (found at toy stores, garden stores, supermarkets, anywhere that sells kids' outdoor stuff) baked in the oven for 30 mins at 230C to disinfect. The dark sand in this video is from Argos, but I now use a nicer lighter coloured sand from Tesco.

Honestly, I like watching educational pet videos like these more than those cute pet complations even though I don't own any of them. I like to watch educational hamster, turtles, cats, dogs, rabbits, and even ants. Idk if it's just me being weird or someone's actually doing this too

When I bought my hamster I purchased a potty with the intent to potty train but she knew what to use it for. Yay. When I got my 2nd hammy, got her a potty, she did not get the hang of it 🤦🏻‍♀️. I love her just the same. ☺️. Thank you for this wonderful video. 💕

yes! then your hamster will like using the poppy! but not everytime cause the hamster will think that if he use it, he will always get treats and keep sleeping in the poppy or not leaving it too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Vanila! Can you make more hamster treat videos? They are super helpful when it comes to making healthy treats for your little hammy! I'm normally really picky when it comes to shopping at pet stores and online for treats because I just don't know if they are healthy for my hamster, and most of them are not! Please continue with those!

I watched this video two years ago when I first got my hamster and was able to easily potty train him to pee in the sandbox. It made cleaning the cage so much easier and I honestly think he likes it too. Thank you!

Well, I though everyone do that, no? When I was a kid, my hamsters (I had 2, brothers, syrian hamsters) had their own 'toilet' (with litter sand) and 'bathroom' (with sandbath), and they loved sleeping with tissue sheets (the more the better, they had tearing-tissue-party kinda stuff) in their 'shared bedroom'. They lived in a large aquarium full with hamsters toys (since they were escape artists, we found glass aquarium with top cover more safe and easiest to clean than cage, I cleaned it every 2-3 days, and we also scheduled vet check every month. They seemed pretty happy, convenient and healthy before died because of old age, both buried side by side under mango tree in our garden. Dang, I really miss those silly fluffy goofballs. Sorry guys, childhood memories kicked in.

Okay wtf bro ._. But anyway there's not much you can do if you don't have store bought sand. Remember to never use water to clean your hamster and don't use Chinchilla dust. Get Chinchilla sand if you can. If not buy children's play sand and bake it to make sure any bacteria dies.
