How to Pour a Concrete slab with Brick

Yes! and I cristened it by dropping it on my job site and got a little concrete on the edge when measuring out my wet cuts. I love that tape and told my crew: its named after David Odell - Stud! The Wilwaukee tape is a must have for every guy!

I like the brick, do you sponge the joints to make everything pretty? I just bought 6.5 acres and am going to build on it in a couple of years, your channel gives me all kinds of great project ideas, thanks!

Do you need to have the homeowner get permits for small jobs like this? Just a thought, if you need permits can you describe the process and how it affects your work on big jobs. Here in small town western Pennsylvania paperwork is sometimes hard and inspections can drive you to consume several adult beverages before you loose your cool.

No permits needed for this. To obtain a permit check with your local Building Department.

In climates where soil does not freeze, yes

In Ohio, I add 4-6" of gravel (usually # 57's) to handle draining water and preventing frost heave in winter.
