Very nice video. I made first tester with your wax and got some cracks around wooden wick so my guess was my room temperature cuz it’s most likely low (around 19C) and I poured it at 50C. But with the wick I struggled to find explanation. I’ve researched many information about wooden wicks and most of them recommend to put 2 wicks together instead of 1, so I did it to my tester and had crazy and insane pool and flame and obviously hot container which was hotter than a cup of coffee. With your video I understood that 1 wick is enough or maybe even smaller size one will do another testing. Thank you so much

When I first started making candles, I purchased C3. When I went through the 45lb box, I ordered another. I feel like it is by far the superior wax. I still test with all of my new fragrance oils. Jazmyn, we’re happy to hear you found this video useful. If there is still a desire to add more fragrance than the suggested amounts, an additive such as NatureWax Elite 300 or Stearic Acid at 2 to 5% can be added to the wax to help control the cottage cheese on your next batch of candles.

@Cargill

Thanks Tyaja for the question. The FO can be added at anytime once the wax is above 165 deg F. Our preferred practice is typically to add it to the wax at 170 degrees F so to limit loses as much before the candle is poured.

Such an informative video and brilliantly produced. I excitedly woke this morning and followed all your instructions hoping to pour the ultimate candle using C6 Coconut soy wax, however, I have come up with an issue I'm unsure how to solve. My room temperature was 23 c when melting the wax using a wax Melter, and stirred the wax with FO for your suggested time of around 5 mins. After 5 mins the temperate of the wax had plummeted to 60'C which I then had to pour, as heating up the wax again on a hot plate would possibly cause the FO to evaporate. Looking at the candles, they have set and are not so great: sink holes, and lumpy. I will have to pour a second layer but want to know if there is any way to pour a candle once without a second pour being needed ? Thanks so much :)
@Cargill
@Cargill Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question. I would suggest making sure that the wax is hotter when you pour them. Heating the wax back up to 75 degree Celsius will not flash off that much of the fragrance.

Dear @anitamarskamp, If just looking at burn the for wick sizing and flame height, 18 to 24 hours is enough. If looking for how a fragrance throws in the wax, let the candles sit for 2 to 5 days so that the fragrance will equalize in the candle.

Thanks Nicole for the question. We would recommend being consistent in your method. If you are using fluid measurements, always use them. If you are using volume measurements, stick with that. Either can work, but it's important to stay consistent in how you measure inputs.

I would suggest that they start pouring at 150 deg F to see how that does and flex the temperature up and down by 10 deg F to see which temperature works the best. As for fragrance levels I would suggest starting at 6% and work up slowly testing for bleed and appearance.

In instructions of C3 wax it says maximum fragrance load is 6%. On the candle supply site it says 8%. Here you say maximum 9%. So what is true? It's confusing.
@CrazyCarriee
@CrazyCarriee 2 жыл бұрын
it is very confusing. I just started candle making and ive been searching everywhere to see how much FO people are using. I tried 6% but i get little to no ht. Then i tried 9% which gives me a little more ht but only slightly. guessing it either because of wick( eco 10 in 2in diameter jar) or just the FO itself. also purchased vybar to try out
@Cargill
@Cargill Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question. Typically, 6% is the level that you will not see any issues with the wax. Some fragrances will cause problems with the wax when used at higher percentages. Test the fragrance in the wax and if no problems are seen then you can use that amount. If problems come up you may need to add additives to help control the fragrance problem.

Help! I poured c3 and c6 waxes at 71-70°C temperature (room temperature was about 21-22°C) with 6% fragnance load and solid dye and got frosting in both candles. I can't really understand how can I avoid this problem. One article about working with soy waxes says that I need to decrease pouring temp, this vid says to increase it 🤯 And judging by the table in Handling Sheet, wax pouring temp for my room temp is between 71.1 to 76.7°C. Can I simply ignore this recomendation and pour at lower temp?
@Cargill
@Cargill 4 ай бұрын
Dear RainbowEnderNya, Our experts shares that they have typically gotten the best results following the sheets but they do know that others have had great success pouring at much lower temperatures. The main thing is to make sure that the wax is heated to at least 165 deg F (73.9 deg C) and then let the wax cool down to the temperature that you would like to pour at. They have had customers that have poured at low as 120 deg F (48.9 deg C) and have great results.

And also about fragnance load. Handling Sheet says that Maximum Recommended Fragrance is 6% without any additives, but Lady in video says that it's 6-9%. Where is the truth?
@Cargill
@Cargill 4 ай бұрын
Dear RainbowEnderNya, There is always a reason for doing this. Not all fragrances are the same and some of them have a co-solvent in them that will cause the wax to fat bloom (Cauliflower). At 6% this co-solvent typically does not give the wax problems so that is where 6% comes from. In the case of the video, the person had done the testing to know that she could use 9% and not have problems with the wax. Make sure to test the wax at higher levels and if no problems with the wax is noted then with that fragrance you can use the higher levels. If on the other hand you see issues, like a rough surface after the burn, then go back and add in the additives they talk about.
