I honestly don't think it even takes 2-3 hours of deep work a day to master a skill and be productive. I have found in my life that an hour or less a day focused on one skill is enough to make huge gains as long as you consistently do it every day. I believe this is addressed in a lot of self development books I have read. Consistency and developing positive habits is senior to time spent grinding.

This principal is why I started running just 1 mile a day. I'm on day 260 now and it's having a cascading effect throughout my entire life. I'm always faster now and my aerobic base is exponentially. better then where it was when I started. I'm just now starting to focus on my performance based goals.

Just wanted to say keep killing it with the content man. I was recently diagnosed with ADHD at age 31. Been on a mega journey since August (getting dumped, best motivation) realizing there are daily habits and strategies to help manage my symptoms and make progress and big changes in my life. Morning workouts, consistent sleep schedule, 30 hrs spent reorganizing my place, avoiding alcohol, daily learning, productivity audiobooks. All those + meds equals the focus I never thought I’d ever be able to feel. Contrast that with the last decade spent avoiding new responsibilities and obligations, hammered in by the experience pushing myself to graduate from university and deciding “I’m never doing anything that hard ever again”. Feels like a huge turning point in my story and I can’t wait to see where it goes.

I'm sorta going through the same process now. Don't have the time or money to get an official diagnosis but I'm 99% sure i have autism with ADHD being a cofactor or whatever it's called. I'm actually reading atomic habits now and so far the best thing I've gotten from it was "Create an environment where doing the right thing is as easy as possible." I get easily distracted so organizing my living space so that doing what I gotta do is a no brainer. Things like putting away distractions (phone, game console) and putting up reminders in places i frequent. Still building up my system but i have hope.

I’ve added two more rules to this list that align with my personal goals. 1. Eat Healthily. I find that healthy well rounded meals make me feel better and smarter. There’s data on this so do it! 2. Read some fiction too. I know the reading on this list is focused on reading goal oriented nonfiction. However personally I think reading fiction is good for you too. Many people these days spend hours scrolling social media. So instead of spending 1 hr on Instagram (which will distract/agitate you) spend an hour reading (may excite, intrigue, stimulate but in a more calm way). My 2 cents.

Happy belated birthday Nikhil! I had to wish you on Instagram but I've been so busy with my thesis that I didn't get time. I've been watching your channel since December 2018 and the amount of growth you've achieved is impeccable. I know it's scary approaching your 30's, I know because my siblings are all approaching their 30's, and I can see the dread inside of them with each birthday that passes, but just remember that you're gonna be okay, and you're gonna achieve everything you've dreamed of and more. You're an amazing person with so much creativity, resilience, and inner beauty inside of you, and you inspire me in a lot of ways. I'm excited to meet you someday, hopefully when I go to America in 1-2 years. I hope you had an amazing birthday Nikhil. Happy birthday once again :D

I have been hitting the gym consistently 5 days a week since early June and the improvement has been immense. As a dude who couldn't do one pull-up or tricep dip to save his life all I can say is that it gives me so much joy when I can easily do several reps of those now. Going to the gym I feel is one of the most easily measurable and effective activities that one can do to improve themselves because the results are quick and quantifiable. It;s an activity that goes beyond just physical health but taps deep into our mental health as well and makes us feel good about our bodies.

And just keep going will increase the chances you’ll accomplish it. So for me as someone who just started a yt channel I just hit my first 100 subs yesterday. Next goal: 500. Not 5k. I speak from personal experience. I've pretty much hit the top of my "career" field unless I choose to try for management, and what I've learned is that there is definitely an income top after about 15 years in this field. I would try to start my own business, but I wouldn't be able to make near as much as I do just with this 9-5 for years. Rather, sinking all my money into investments right now instead.

I loved what you said about creating a program to the self-help content we consume. Content like podcasts, reading books, listening to audiobooks and KZfaq videos. But instead of watching them for essentially entertainment, which may be something a lot of us are doing and no really knowing it! But watching them with a real purpose; naybe even with a specific goal in mind. I've consumed so much information but just like what the author of atomic habits stated, plan less and do more. We may feel more productive when we consume informative material but the true results come when we put it into action. Don't get me wrong, exposing ourselves to good content is infinitely better than other stuff. It's how I learned about so much cool and useful material but we do have to be careful about replacing old "bad" habits with another one that doesn't lead to much change because you could be on this journey of self help for 7 years and then look back to realize that nothing much has changed. Sticking to something is key.

It just sealed inside me, even though I have already started the journey of building my resume, GPA, etc. This video has given alot more clarity. I'm so happy that I watched this FULL !! Regarding going to the gym everyday this really should only be done if your already at or below the weight you want to maintain. That amount of exercise increases hunger which makes losing weight much harder. If you want to lose weight a simple fast day would be equivalent to around 10 gym sessions for calories burned.

This is hilarious. I’m literally bringing myself out of a year long depression adopting this method and then you come out with this video. Great timing! This method works, tried and true. I’d like to add one more thing which is to document. I journal twice a day and helps me stay on the path. Great video Cap!

Absolutely agree on the improvement bit that we should focus on what we are lacking and learning ways to improve instead of reading any random best selling self help books. When I read The Power of Habit, it had little to no impact on my life so to speak. Ofc it gave me insights into how the brain works, which was very interesting NGL. However it's the book Spark that led myself to overcome my mental block to exercise. I knew exercise is good for my health in general, however I'd failed before to keep up a routine. What struck me while reading the book was that my mindset was set to "exercise daily for good health". After reading the book I'd realised that this mindset does not work for me because it's too generalized. My aim has been, as a student, to increase my capacity to learn. When I shifted my focus to the mindset "I must go for a walk downtairs at 7:30 for 15 mins everyday to help myself improve my mental capacity to learn" did massive improvements in my lifestyle start to flourish. I've kept it up for 3 months now. Ofc there're occasional miss days, but I've been consistent enough.

For boxing : Your distance is not good, you are too close. You need to swing around your arms less, more quick direct punches, simple, efficient movement, also tuck your chin in and don't stop breathing.
