Thank you Father That was beautiful meditation, to just meditate on how Jesus is inviting me to share His Father with me. My Father had to work far from home to provide so my image of the father is often he is absent and I find hard at time to place this feelings a side. He cares about me but he is distant. So today it has been such a joyful experience to feel his loving presence. See his love for me in His face. This brought joy to my heart, thank you for this beautiful prayer. please pray for me father. A friend of 30 years went through many hardships I gave him my whole life savings in good faith he would pay me back, and know I am going through many hardships myself. He has become distant very distant. He never paid me back, not one dime. The people around me say I am blind.Pray for me that I do not harden my heart, the people around me do not understand that I forgive 77 times infinite. I do not want the burden of hatred and revenge. I do not know what to do about the people around me who cannot understand this. I am also suffering so very much albeit humbling.Thank you

@@tony1685 The Bible never mentions anything about that in name. So how do you justify this claim? I would say the Bible proves that Catholicism is the True Church. So let us discuss this. For one Catholicism does require both our heart and mind belong to God. Our will, intellect and passions are all to be conformed to His Law and Holy Will. We are called to give everything to Him.
@LostArchivist
@LostArchivist 2 жыл бұрын
@@tony1685 Going to be a bit longer on this one I just lost my initial reply, so I am going to research this and give a better one. I am taking this as a call to upgrade my understanding on these matters. We are talking about the Church`s relationship with Israel especially the Mosaic Law and liturgical practices, The Old and New Covenants, the Exodus and New Exodus and the New Creation and Christ`s relationship to all of this because Our Blessed Lord is the key to understanding all of this. So let me do preparation worthy of this important topic and make sure I have my facts and evidence straight and my arguments planned out properly. One small note though in the interim, in the Gospel of St.John Our Lord does not specifically say Ten Commandments, but His commandments, I am saying this only because that is inclusive of both the Ten Commandments and the two Greatest Commandments (Love the Lord Your God with all your heart, all your mind, all your spirit and all your strength and for love of God,. to love your neighbor as yourself, and the Beatitudes from the Sermon on the Mount (consider how much the language used by Our Blessed Lord is similar to that used in the Book of Exodus during the establishment of the Mosaic Covenant where there is a blessing countermanding a curse) and to care for the least among us (As seen by St.John in Revelation in his vision of the Final Judgement. The Ten Commandments are absolutely important, but they are not enough. We after all must at least be better than the Pharisees.
@LostArchivist
@LostArchivist 2 жыл бұрын
@@tony1685 @tony Then what I said still stands, you must not just follow but do so out of love. Therefore something in addition to the Ten Commandments in their letter is required. And that is their purpose and reason. Love of God and for love of God, love of neighbor. By God`s grace alone can we obey Him and love as He loves and calls us to love, to be perfect as our Heavenly Father is perfect. We are made temples of the Holy Spirit at Baptism and justified by Christ and His perfect sacrifice and indeed obedience to the Will of His Father, nothing we do can save us. God is the One Who saves. Under the Law we are all unworthy of Heaven as sin has touched us and so we are liable to damnation but for God`s Divine Mercy in the Passion, death, and Resurrection of Our Lord. We must also have Faith, Hope, and Charity and proclaim our Faith with out tongues our faith is public not merely private. Because if the Pharisees followed but were not saved, then there is a way to follow the Law but not be obedient to God. In the Gospel of St.Matthew 22:37-40, Our Blessed Lord states He said to him, “You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments.” Thereby these commandments both are the purpose of the Law and the Prophets, their goal, and presuppositions to all of them. Without them the Law becomes as the Pharisees use it in the Gospel, a cudgel as a means of power, rather than a roadmap for humanity to be as God ordains us to be. The Law of God is perfect, we are not though. As far as the Mosaic Law I admit I was sloppy with my terms there, I am sorry. Reflecting on it my choice of words saying that the Ten Commandments are not sufficient was also poor. Obviously it is all the things you say, but I guess what I was trying to get at is, the Law is not autonomous, it does not exist for its own sake, it works as part of God`s plan for salvation, Christ is the fullness of what the Ten Commandments point to, humanity in right worship and adoration of God, in right relationship with God. Christ is the Son of God and as belonging to Christ`s Mystical Body we so are risen from slaves to sons and daughters by adoption. Obedience as you have said, is important, that holds true, but love emerges rather than fear in spiritual maturity. This dimension is not optional, if we have not love we are nothing, our relationship must go much deeper than mere obedience, it must be in Spirit and Truth, it must be the very ground of our identity and being, everything we do must spring from our relationship with God. God must be our all in all.

My question: I've recently returned to Catholicism (about 6 months ago) having fallen away for some 20 years. I think my biggest fear is that it's all too good to be true. It's all a big, comforting narrative that we tell ourselves; constantly convince ourselves, relentlessly reinforce and embed into our minds. That even in the face of this beautiful message on how to pray well... that ultimately we are engaging in self delusion, comforting and necessary though it may be. That prayer is talking to oneself. This is a recurring temptation for me. I have been granted incredible moments of consolation - my (re)conversion was marked by periods where I was utterly convinced of the reality of God; and I choose to believe this now noting as Tolkien said that faith is an act of the will. But this fear, this temptation, is ever present - particularly in times where God seems distant. How do I rid myself of these unwanted doubts?

Just wanted to share this with you and hope it inspires you in some way 🙏🏽 Honesty I didn’t write this the Holy Spirit did through me 😂🙏🏽🙌🏽 My testimony how I found God when I stopped going to church. ⛪️ Some of us are meant to be alone with God, to know Him and be taught by Him and Him alone. Not to rely on a pastor, to be taught by God himself! Don’t get me wrong, nothing better than finding a good spirit filled church, but they are growing fewer and fewer in these end times. The enemies attacks on the body of Christ are stronger now more than ever! Only the strong in Christ are going to be left standing against the plans of the enemy to destroy every last Christian! The closer I get to God, the more I’ve had to unlearn what I’ve been taught in church! God wants to teach you the Bible Himself, with the Holy Spirit’s guidance to tell you what His word means for you! To show you the plans He has for your life. We are all handmade by God for a specific purpose and He wants to teach you Himself what that purpose is! So that you may walk and live in the fullness of your God-given purpose and specific design planned and made just for you. That no one else created can do, but you! 📖 It’s about fully surrendering and giving your will to the Lord. Die of yourself, your flesh and this world. Live only for God and his will and purpose for your life. We are not made whole in this life if we are not living out the purpose we are specifically made for by God to do.🙇🏻‍♀️ You can go to church your whole life and still find yourself locked out of the gates of heaven. To stay on the narrow path that leads to the gates, you have to deny yourself, pick up your cross, never looking right nor left nor behind only straightforward. KEEPING YOUR EYES ON JESUS! ✝️ He is looking for people after his own heart, like David! To set the captives free with telling people the heart of our salvation!❤️ Jesus died on the cross for our sins so the veil could be torn and that we could have communion with the Father and be filled with the Holy Spirit!🕊 The closer I get to God, He’s show me what I have always known to be true with my whole heart!💜 Matthew 19:26 KJV 26 But Jesus be held them, and said unto them, with man this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. AMEN

Only because that word in scripture means 'those sanctified' (ie holy) or 'set apart for the holy' and not the meaning we tend to have in current English. Similarly the angels are sometimes referred to as the 'holy ones of God' etc.

Why do you have a long beard like Muslims? I know why they do keep them long, but I have no idea why Christians do? Thank you for your explanation
@TyroneBeiron
@TyroneBeiron Жыл бұрын
The Eastern Orthodox Church have maintained the keeping of beards for clerics and bishops in their canons, but the Latin Rite Church until the 16th Century generally did not. Pope Julius II wore one from 27 June 1511 to March 1512 to mourn the loss of the Papal States, and you can read about Raphael's famous portrait of his which is now in the UK's National Gallery. Thereafter, it became permissible and popular among the canons (rules) in the Western Rite churches. There is no basis to associate the keeping of a beard by Christians as a way of identifying them as being semitic or of other religious affiliations as you suggested. Most 'Dark Angels' know this.

Exactly. In both the Old and the New Testament, all Believers always pray DIRECTLY to God the Father. Isn't that awesome? And in the New Testament it's always directly to God the Father, "in the name of Jesus". In fact when the disciples asked Jesus himself how to pray he said: "... your Father knows what you need before you ask Him. Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come..." Matthew 6:8‭-‬9 And... "But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you." Matthew 6:6 The Lord God Almighty who made heaven and earth, in his Word, desires (command) that we pray directly to him and to no other. Perfect.
