Through my own experience and observation of other figurative artists, I have come to conclude that palette organisation is one the foundational cornerstones of success as much as drawing is. However, this "secret" is something that is often (intentionally?) overlooked in many training resources. Thank you Michael, for showing us your system of palette of organisation. Its been insightful.

Thanks. I've been enjoying all the videos you've all been sharing with us. I adore your studio space. Looks like a very relaxing place to work. Thanks again and hello from a very cold and rainy England.

So I was able to note down the mixing Strings: Neutral Yellow -> High Chroma Yellow Raw Umber > Raw Sienna > Cadmium Yellow > Cadmium Yellow + More & More White Neutral Blue -> High Chroma Blue Ivory Black > Ultramarine Blue > Cobalt > Cobalt + White > Ultramarine Blue + Lots of White I was wondering if I could get how he would mix the reds? I'm learning at the moment so this is such a great reference for me! Thank you so much for sharing :)

Hello! This is how I understood it: Neutral Red --> High Chroma Red Burnt Umber > Burnt Sienna > Alizarin Crimson > Magenta > Magenta + White I think he skipped Cadmium Red because it's redundant with the Cadmium Orange. If you mixed Cad Orange with Magenta (which is bright pink) you can get a brighter red than Alizarin Crimson. :)

I see all of the colour stains on the pallets and I honestly wish to have something like that some day. I just recently started with acrylics and I plan to learn how

This is great information, thank you for posting. Out of interest, which of the pigments on your palette here would you use to create the string for the reds?

It’s called rublioff the rublev that you say. It’s A Russian painter. + you make it so difficult.. why is that? Does that make you paint better? Do you even know people can paint with 4 colors + maybe another one or two ?
