I will have the interview on June 9th, however before watching this video, my preparation is limited(almost nothing I believe lol). Hope I can finish the preparation before the interview.

Do students applying for exchange program need to give an interview? Is there a selection process for exchange students from partners universities?

Hi there. Super video and very helpful! I have a curious question: my niece who’s applying from China had an interview today and was not given any prep time for image analysis. She was so taken aback that she missed-read the image. The interviewers did not bother to give her time to correct herself, instead they simply skipped this section and moved on to free exchanges. Is this normal in your opinion? Thanks in advance for your advice.

Hi! I am currently applying to the Menton campus and am a bit worried about the amount of actual knowledge of the region of focus. Mine is quite basic at the moment and I am struggling to find reliable sources which worries me in light of the potential interview. Thank you for the video, it really calmed me haha

Hi Ida! I had an interview for the Menton campus back in March and I got in! I only really started preparing like 5 days before the actual interview (it was not smart). I personally tried to acquire some geographical knowledge first of all, then I looked into the Arab Spring and more in general into the situation in Syria, Lybia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, the Emirates, and Yemen. I researched a bit about general topics like feminism, sustainability and how the war in Ukraine was affecting the region. It's just impossible to know everything about every country, so don't worry. If you want some advices or want to know what questions they asked me I can give you my email

Hi!! Yes, pretty sure you can do the interview in English. Everyone on the panel will be bilingual but of course if the program is in French they may test your French for a few minutes at the end to make sure you speak French

also - I have an interview for reims but i am also admissible for menton (its my 2nd choice). Do you think they will ask me questions about both regions or only euro-american?

You’re allowed to have notes of course. And they will ask mainly about the US and Europe but might ask about the Middle East so prepare for that.

Hey! I had a question regarding the 3rd year. Is it automatic admission to any of SciencePo's partner universities, or do we individually apply to the university we'll be spending our 3rd year in?

You apply to six different choices (in ranked order) and the SciencesPo committee in charge of deciding where everyone goes will make that decision based on your grades. Some schools, like Georgetown only have one spot, so it’s very competitive. Other schools, like UCLA or U of T may have 15 spots. It all depends on the quota of the given year and how good your grades are!

Could take anywhere between 2 to 6 weeks, I personally didn’t hear back for a month.

Is there a requirement to pay for a tuition ? I think I might be suitable but I dont know if id be able to have a job simultaneously to studying and my mother wouldnt be able to pay for my housing in France / the tuition 😐 do you have advice ?

Apply for a scholarship with SciencesPo and look into Crous. They make things more affordable for students in France!

You also have the chance to work at SciencesPo in the library or cafeteria

i had the interview and i thought it went well but im so curious if they thought the same. if i couldnt name all the arab spring countries is it a deal breaker? lol

Technically, you can do it in either French or English. Admin at SciencesPo are bilingual. But if you applied to an English track (Reims, Menton, Le Havre) they will expect the interview to be in English.
