Probably “forever”. Ideally. Animals specimens are preserved in alcohol and last a long time.

CLEARLY, the “Thing’s You’ll Need” detail includes an apothecary jar as alternate choice. This is what the creator used. Shame on you for such a vile accusation when your own neglect in reading the material list is at issue. You must be a republican.
