The ones I wrapped are past their prime for this, but I’m trying anyway. However, next year I’ll do it right! Here is how to preserve your peonies so you can enjoy them for up to two months!  
1. You must cut them when the green outer layer has opened and the first couple of petals have just begun to unfurl. The bud should feel like a firm marshmallow when pressed from the top.  
2. Give a good amount of length and remove all leaves except the top one or two to preserve energy. 
3. Make sure that the peonies are COMPLETELY free from moisture and roll them carefully in a paper towel. Cover the buds with a plastic grocery bag and tie. Do the same with the stem side. 
4. Keep in refrigerator for up to two months. Pull some out when you want a fresh bouquet. Check on them weekly to make sure they are doing ok! 
5. Give the stems a fresh diagonal cut and arrange in a water filled container.
