What are your thoughts on Curology and how does Curology differ from Apostrophe? Do you prefer Apostrophe over Curology? Would love to hear your thoughts on this!
@Justanothermusicnerdxo
@Justanothermusicnerdxo 2 жыл бұрын
I’m not Cassandra but I have a lot of experience with both brands. I was actually using Curology back when it used to be branded as “PocketDerm”. I used that for over 5 years and then I swapped off for Apostrophe. Curology worked amazing and it was super affordable, however I felt like it was a struggle to try to strengthen my formulation. While they do provide prescription quality ingredients I felt like in their pursuit to become more and more mainstream they used more beginner friendly formulas that worked for a broader amount of people, an furthermore they heavily encouraged using their other products which makes sense but didn’t interest me as a skincare veteran. I went into Apostrophe, no longer looking for an anti-acne formula like my early 20s but now looking for a stronger tretinoin for anti aging purposes, and anti redness for developing rosacea. This worked reasonably well and I got a stronger formula. Apostrophe cost more, but I felt like I was able to treat my e-derm more like a full dermatologist and discuss things in further depth. In summary, both are good and comparable. Curology is more mainstream and user friendly, as well as cheaper. But it’s also more limited. Apostrophe is more expensive but is also closer to a normal dermatologist visit, and also provides more flexibility in formulation.

Cassandra introduced me to how skincare works. I suffered from acne on the face and body, and I’ve used many products to treat my acne ranging from Cetaphil to Neutrogena but none of them seems to work until Cassandra shown me products that target certain problems I have. My face got a lot better after I followed her products recommendations and advice. She’s the only influencer I trust.

Love you too Cassandra!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️ I will, tho, kindly disagree with the vitamin C. For a no test product I’d trust Niod but honestly I’m pretty happy with my Paulas choice. If I were going to spend that much I think I’d Vite the bullet and get the SS Vitamin C one… Since the first time you blew my mind talking about Apostrophe a few videos ago… I got the nerve to buy over the counter Adapalene… I really want to try apostrophes and I’m slowly but surely working my way up ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Cassandra you are amazing, I might not agree with everything but, no two humans think 100% the same. Just because we disagree on things it won’t stop me from thinking you’re awesome! You have such a kind heart. You’ve been a big knowledge and change to how I see things. Me too! I've been using tretinoin and prescription-strength azelaic acid for months now. I've also tried niacinamide, lactic acid, mandelic acid, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, etc in the past. They don't really do much on my skin. I very rarely deal with acne now, thanks to benzoyl peroxide, but most of my pimples turn into stubborn dark spots. It's annoying. And don't make me start talking about sunscreen because i'm such a sunscreen junkie. I don't think i'll ever try chemical peels as glycolic and lactic irritate my skin, and sadly, i've never read anything about laser treatment.

I have a question for all these Beauty geeks like Cassandra herself. How many products do you have in your regular routine. As a beginner, I find it overwhelming (the amount of effort put in)
@laur83
@laur83 2 жыл бұрын
it can definitely be overwhelming at first. you should never feel as though you need an excessive skincare routine, just use what you need. cleanser, moisturiser and sunscreen is the absolute basic and then, if you want to or if you have particular skin concerns, you add onto that. i use between 6 and 8 products in the morning and evening on different days. basically just focus on cleaning, hydrating and protecting your skin, along with dealing with any issues you might face. don’t let the skincare community pressure you into buying ten products.

@Yellowee hi hun, I know it can be daunting at first. Il give you my whole skin care routine here, but remember that any actives I use or products for targeting a particular skin issue may be very different to any skin issues, like acne, or aging etc, that you may have so this really is just so you can see a full and working routine: MORNING. I DOUBLE CLEANSE WITH AN OIL CLEANSER FIRST, THEN A MICELLA WATER. THEN I USE A GENTLE TONER. I THEN USE AN EYE GEL. THEN MY VITAMIN C SERUM AND MY NIACINAMIDE SERUM THEN I USE A SMALL AMOUNT OF ROSE HIP OIL, THEN I USE A FACTOR 50 SUN SCREEN ALL OVER MY FACE, NECK, CHEST AND HANDS AS MY DAY MOISTURISER. NIGHT. DOUBLE CLEANS WITH SAME PRODUCTS. I THEN USE AN EXFOLIATING TONER THEN I USE MY TRETINOIN ALL OVER MY FACE AND NECK (PRESCRIPTION ONLY RETINOID) THEN I LEAVE THE TRETINOIN ON WITH NOTHING ELS FOR 2 HOURS. THEN BEFORE BED I USE EVERYTHING I DO IN THE MORNING BUT INSTEAD OF SUNCREAM I USE A MOISTURISER AND LASTLY, TO SEEL EVERYTHING IN I USE A CARROT OIL. Really hope this help babe xxx

Question about use of sunscreen. When a product tells you to use sunscreen because the product makes you extra sensitive, when do you actually need it? F.ex an acid used once a week, outside of summer, do you need the sunscreen all week or just a few days after you have used the product? Might mention I live in Scandinavia where the sun isn't strong about 4-5 months of the year. Thanks 😊

Does anyone get those pimples where you can see the pus inside but it doesn't rise up fully for the pus to come out so it kind of just settles back down? SOS those leave the worst scars and I can't even do anything to get the stuff out 😭😭

What can I do for old acne scars? I’ve had acne scars for a decade and I want to get rid of them. Besides going towards the surgical route, what are some products you recommend?

I've had milia bumps on my chin that slowly turn into pimples. I can feel them coming but there's nothing I can do about it. I've been using adapelene, benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid (not all together) but they seem to do nothing at all.
