Neither of us were diagnosed with ADHD, but your videos describe our lives - AND give practical tips to do life better. I can't thank you enough for these videos! Oh, and then there's the reason I started watching your videos in the first place - professionally. I work with students who have ADHD. Again, you are the only resource I've found that speaks directly to people with ADHD, rather than about them. I can see the whole demeanor change in my students after they've watched your videos, more empowered, understood and not alone. Thank you.

What if I procrastrinated too long and ended up in a pile of obligations that are urgent, important, and time-consuming? I usually end up procrastrinating even more because I can't decide which task to do first so I do something else (ie. something that doesn't require much effort), even if I try doing one of the necessary things just knowing that I also have OTHER necessary things to do (or that I'm not doing it fast enough) steals my attention

Even though the tests aren't entirely scientific, and every ADHD Mind is Unique, it may point you in the "right direction". IF you found your way here, you're here for a reason. If you find that these videos speak to you on a profound level, and you identify with the videos and people commenting, maybe you DO have ADHD? Just my thoughts.

One day I was on KZfaq and ended up on your channel, when I watched your videos I started to become intrested, so I started researching, I am honestly addicted to learning about it. Researching about this really helped me tell my friends in a way so they can understand. Thank you sooo much! All of your videos have really changed my life. she's gorgeous haha. And I mean that in a totally platonic way, just to clarify. I've found that a lot of people with ADHD are really attractive, feature-wise, like, most people I know with either ADHD or Aspberger's (which I also have) are really... "symmetrical" in their features. Strange. Or maybe not. "Beautiful Mind = Beautiful Face". =)

Your content has become pretty much the only thing I actively make time for on KZfaq anymore. So informative and your sense of humor is refreshing. I'm in my mid-40s, never been diagnosed ADHD, but I'm 1000% convinced I would test positive. No idea why my folks never investigated it growing up or why I hadn't thought to myself until now, but I just took the first step and started hunting for psychiatrists in my area. Gotta figure this out.

This is why people think everyone has ADHD. But hey, can I just say this stuff is more URGENT for us. Lol. Can I also say your videos are SO WELL MADE! The graphics and animations are helpful and are so well designed! And you too! Total package! Wait, is watching KZfaq urgent or important? Well these videos are both.

Thanks again for another wonder video!!! I love how you break this stuff down so that I can understand how it applies to my life!!! One important but not urgent thing I need to take care of is car repairs. Everyday I drive my car it reminds me of how I need to take it in. I know that if I don't do it soon it will jump to the Urgent box which means I will need a tow truck and probably miss a day of work. So I need to set aside some time on my next day off to take it in. Now the next issue I deal with is how to prioritize all the important stuff I have in my life that is not urgent!! I only have so many hours to use so....... Anyway, thanks again Jessica!!!

how are you now? I think Dave Crenshaw would disagree with Jessica mccabe's priority matrix? (Dave Crenshaw has ADHD and is a time management/productivity expert, but he isn't an ADHD expert) > should I categorize it according to urgency and importance? This is a reference to the decision matrix of President Dwight D. Eisenhower that was made popular by Steven R. Covey. > This system doesn’t really work anymore because we have too many things coming at us. Everything is urgent and everything is important. Therefore, the only thing that we can do is prioritize according to time. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eq1gfMl4tq67lIU.html&ab_channel=DaveCrenshaw davecrenshaw.com/task-management/

I’m doing this with my homework right now. I’m trying to get out of the habit of only doing homework that’s about to be due and instead work on things that are really important assignments, even if they have far off deadlines, and stay on top of work that is important but doesn’t get graded, like reading my textbooks or reviewing the recorded lectures.

The point of actively seeking this video is because reducing stress and overwhelm so I can finally work toward thriving instead of surviving is important to me and it’s sat in the important but not urgent box for far too long. I couldn’t decide what to do today, there isn’t anything urgent and important (that I could identify) on my list today until get ready for work and I have a couple of hours where I would normally end up doom scrolling or getting fixated on an urgent but not important thing. So what better way to fix the decision paralysis is there then to learn a new skill and enter THE MATRIX. I’ve seen this matrix before but I don’t think I fully understood what urgent and or important really meant… thanks to your digestible definitions I think it’s helped sort that out a bit… I do think I also need to do some journaling to discover some of my values and goals or clearly define them for myself to help me figure out what category I should put things in… time for another massive to-do list mind dump that I may actually sort this time and may actually get to check off instead of just loosing that list to obscurity. Thank YOU!!!!!

You've inspired me. Right now I'm folding the laundry, well after I write this comment, that has been on the couch on a rotating basis for...pretty much forever. It's important to fold and put away my clothes for the following reasons: 1. If people come over I look like a slob and I'm embarrassed to let people in my house, 2. If is folded and put away I can access it quickly in the morning rather than spending time search through the pile. 3. It's an important part of decluttering my house and decluttering my house is important because my cluttered house increases my anxiety level. It's not urgent because no one is scheduled to come over right now, it's not the morning and I'm not getting ready for work, and there are other urgent things distracting me like FB. So, here goes. #ibnu

This is beyond embarrassing to admit but I've watched this a few times hoping to be inspired enough to actually put this into practice. Maybe sort out my priorities so I could actually finish one goal vs sorta of do many things but never finish them. It took accepting medication and starting medication to get myself to actually put this amazing advice into practice. Thank you for all your videos and transparency. It's hard at times accepting who we are but much needed for growth.

#ibnu But seriously this helps soso much. Deadlines are great because it forces you to get stuff done (for the most part), but if there's not a deadline or if you never have visitors to clean up for, or a reason to renew your license other than you might get sick of public transport one day, things generally just don't get done. This and treating your life like a video game are two of the best ADHD tips I've ever come across. Thanks for making this channel and making coping mechanisms for ADHD so accessible. 💖💖
