This video demonstrates on a Dodge Ram truck. The process is the same for many other Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep vehicles with a smart fob remote (fobik). The programming process is just as easy for a Chrysler / Dodge / Jeep with a traditional style key and will be demonstrated in a coming video.

"Simple" is the word to describe this. After watching this video it took me 5 minutes to get the fob programmed. NICE! Dodge/Ram wanted to charge me over $600 to purchase and program a new fob.

I just bought one for my 2014 ram 1500. And the kit worked great! It was really easy and simple. I only had a key to start the truck and no fob to begin with. But after using the kit I have a fob and I will be ordering another one. Great service and great product. They responded quickly to my questions and I received the kit really fast. I am in the same position. I have the key but my dog chewed the fob. My 2014 Ram's key will not start the truck. How did you get past this step if inserting the original key to start the vehicle?

I read the directions a couple of times then wrote out my own . Followed the steps and I was done in a couple minutes. Great product . Just be patient and know the steps before you start .

Omg. This product is absolutely fantastic. The pairing process was very easy. It took me about 15 minutes to pair two key fobs on my 2012 Ram 1500. For the two fobs I think I saved about $350 over dealers rip off pricing. I recommend this product! Definitely worth the money!

This worked great for me, it was quick and inexpensive. I also did the back up physical key cut service. I was skeptical that it would work as the lighting in my pictures were not good but it worked flawlessly.

These worked great for my 2014 Ram 1500. I bought it used and it only came with one fob. I've been anxious about losing it or it dying and found this inexpensive and easy solution. I got the simple key kit and an extra fob. The extra programmed very easy with no need to activate. The one in the box had to be activated. I had trouble with this one but it was user error. When they say press lock and panic simultaneously to turn on blue light activation mode they really mean simultaneously. Took maybe 10 minutes to do both keys.

How awesome seeing this video. Was needing another backup fob as my other one took a dump and died. Called a lock smith to set up an appointment as they come to your house and work on your car or truck fob and charge a crazy amount as do the all the dealerships. Locksmith never showed. After watching this video, instantly purchased one for my 2016 Dodge ram 1500. Shipped within a couple day's. Worked within10 minutes of watching the video. Very easy to do. This is such an amazing product! I really give it a 10 ⭐️ review!!!!!! I was able to save tons of money using this programmer for my van. I was able to program more then 1 key and that truly is a big deal so I can have someone keep my fob just in case of anything. I priced on a sale they had on the website and was a very good deal and even if I had to pay regular price still doesn’t compare to the hundreds of dollars I saved!! Worked great. As per my previous comment, I just followed the instructions exactly. It was very easy. I programmed 3 key fobs for a 2013 Dodge RAM. I purchased two other fobs in case there was an issue, but they all work. The Simple Key programmer works great! Now I have 3 new key fobs for under $200. The dealer wanted $190 (fob) + $80 (to program) which totals to $270 each, or $810 for 3. Note I would have probably only bought 1 but now I have 3. No worries about a lost key though.

WOW this stuff is AMAZING ( Worked well on my Dodge Journey 2010 in Australia) and it's so so easy to use. I ve programmed my car with ease and was able to program the keyfob that came with the simple key box, but also a keyfob I purchased a year ago from a different supplier ( i just did the instructions from part 2) bam my new keyfob was programmed without any issues. Glad I stumbled across this video. I was just thinking about getting another spare key for my '13 Ram 2500. Had batteries plus program a key for me a couple years ago, it only worked once and quit. Won't do business with them again. Ordered the simple programmer and fob, can't wait to try it out. UPDATE: Had my order delivered in just a couple days, followed the easy instructions in this video. I just ordered one of these, which will be here tomorrow. My old key fob is on the blitz, and I lost one several months ago. Thought I would go this route after the dealer wants $120.00 per key fob. Have 2 done so that will be $240.00. I say OUCH, to that. Can’t wait for the kit to arrive.

Just got my key 10 min ago already my main key because my old fob was falling apart. As of right now, it works! Quote from local locksmith was $200 out the door. This saved me cash and I can even buy a 3rd key fob if I need it in the future and still be under the $200.

Awesome product saved some cash doing it myself. It took a few tries had to use alternate code then it worked first try. Also as mentioned by someone else drill small hole to see blue light on new remote.

I ordered the Programmer/Fob kit (which needed to be prepped with the Panic/Lock hold down with flashing blue light) as well as two additional fobs (which did not require the Panic/Lock treatment). The video shows the way. Key is to only connect the programmer into the OBD2 jack when it is needed. At the 3:10 mark he plugs in the programmer (just to show how to plug it in), but that is out of sequence. The next scene shows the programmer disconnected as it should be. Also, the method was as shown for the fob contained in the programmer kit. But the two additional fob programming went a little different, beep-wise. For the extra fobs, my programmer beeped when first plugged in and when the button was *first* pushed. I did all the other things in sequence but the programmer didn't beep. I thought that the programming hadn't happened, but the key was able to start the car. The video is a little unclear as to how to program the door lock/unlock. I clicked the OEM fob lock/unlock and then pressed the new fob once (nothing) then twice and I get the lock. Same thing with the unlock (once, nothing, twice it unlocks).

NO ISSUES programming my key. One thing, 5:26, the way it looks is that Lock/Unlock needs programming. It didn't happen with mine, I have a Dodge Journey and after programming the new key lock/unlock worked, I didn't have to do anything else. Other than that, it worked great. It looks complicated at the beginning but it is not, anyone can do it.

It worked great on a 2010 Charger. You'll need a key that starts the car. Lock,unlock, trunk and alarm button don't need to work for the programmer to program the new keys,,,it took me literally less than 4 minutes to program 2 new key fobs. All buttons work as the master key fob. Dealer wanted $224 plus tax for each key fob made. Highly recommended.

Good follow along! Thank you. Be aware, you may have to remove the keypad itself and pierce a hole where the blue light is. Mine was sealed... small drill bit opened it oup and I was able to activate my key. Follow instruction manual for accessing the key pad.

I that code you entered the same as the "Vehicle pin" both the dealer and pop-a-lock had to look up? I was under the impression it was unique to my truck.

Nope. That code is specific to the Simple Key activation. It's part of the technology for this product.

I have a 2018 ram 1500 that came with just the regular key,the one you actually insert into the door to open and the ignition to start,all I really want is to be able to lock and unlock the doors remotely,will this work for that.

Yes, as long as your truck came from the factory with the lock/unlock feature. You may be able to get it confirmed by calling the dealer with your VIN

Very helpful. Helpful Hint' you don't have to hold the fob in start position, just turn it there and let it go, it will start on it's own. Thanks for the video. raveondave

Just got one for my 2012 RAM 1500. Sure hope it works!! You said it saves alot of money, but the $120 for the SIMPLE KEY Programmer is not small change either! I'll comment again after I find out if it works...

I was skeptical and fearful, spending $120 on it and another $30 on 2 extra fobs, but WALLAH! It went just as described, so easy to go step by step and each key programmed without any trouble!!

If I have an aftermarket performance tune on the truck do I need to return the vehicle to stock in order to program the key? Thank you

We have not assessed this situation and can not definitively answer. I suspect that add long as the performance tune does not impact the ignition security checks if the vehicle, a new key/fob should be able to program without reverting to stock. But that is only a guess. Sorry I don't have a better answer for you

When you program a new key, does your old key still work? I lost one of my key fobs for a 2016 ram. I want to disable the one a lost and get a new one.

Your old keys, even lost one will still work. To disable lost keys you’ll need more advanced equipment. A locksmith or dealership can do this for you

Watch the video closely. It jumps forward when he tried to start the truck after programming. Obviously didn’t work the first time!!

My buttons on my keyfob dont work for my 2012 dodge ram, do i need to do a different way of programming the key so on the new key fob all buttons work?

If you have a working key, even if the buttons don't work, the Simple Key kit should successfully program so the buttons work on the new key, as long as your vehicle was equipped with those features from the factory.

Do you have a working key that starts the engine? If so, Simple Key should work. If you don't have a working key, get one made first.
