This video will show you how to program any Acura, Honda ECU key immobilizer after ECU swap it's common to have ECU damage after accident on any Acura or Honda. This video will show you a 2014 Honda Odyssey ECU being cloned.

We purchased a 2002 Accord EX 6 CYL. It has all sorts of problems you mentioned. Auto Zone's diags tool says it's an Accord DX. 4 CYL

Is there any difference between traditional KEY START cars and those new one push start car models? I have a 2014 civic si and it equiped ONE PUSH START and KEYLESS ACCESS system, can I follow your instruction to replace my ECM? BTW, can replace the damaged 2014 ONE PUSH START ECM with a 2012 traditional KEY START ECM, I mean is there difference between this 2 types ECMs?

My friend's 98 Accord LX, 4 banger, 110K, dies intermittently. I replaced the distributor but it is still dying. I will try the ignition switch next. I was wondering if the immobilizer could be the problem. The key is original. Can the transponder ring cause intermittant stalling? I am not sure if new ones are still available. I think I can put a used one in and will not have to reprogram the key as it is just the reader. I appreciate your thoughts.

I have an 08 element that I bought but the steering column has been taken out, I found a steering column on car parts but doesn’t have an ignition key, if I buy that column without a key, and also buy a ignition with key for it, can I buy the same ecu off that element that I’m buying the column from and perform this with my current element ecu and crank it up? Awesome video hope it'll work for me... but one thing you got the 2 chip locations mixed between the two boards. On ecu is upside down and the other isn't. So the locations on the new ecu would be opposite side of what u said in the vid

Another trick is getting a JDM ECU like I did. As far as I know, most cars in Japan don't have immobilizers, so those ECUs are usually plug and play if you get the right one. At least it was for me. I plugged it in and the car started right up. I hope that this information helps someone

@@joelshimp I am not sure about the 8th gen Civic ECUs, but I know that at least the older JDM Honda ECUs up to 05 have an immobilizer if the letter at beginning of the last group of the part number starts with N and it has no immobilizer if it starts with J. So if the part number is 37820-XXX-NXX it has an immobilizer, but if the part number is 37820-XXX-JXX it has no immobilizer and starts right up with no programming. I do not know if this is the same with the newer ECUs though. I found this ECU on eBay that might work for you. If your car is drivable with the ECU that's in it maybe check to see if you have a JDM engine shop around you and if you do see if they will let you try the ECU in the parking lot before you buy it, just plug it in and see if it will start. Also, if you choose to go with a US ECU, call some local mechanics and locksmiths and see what they charge to flash it to the key, it will likely be a lot less than what Honda charges. The other option is to go to a junkyard and get an ECU, ignition cylinder, and key from the same car. If you do this you will have 2 keys but you won't need to have anything programmed. Hope this helps. Hello George, Still on the same 2000 honda Odyssey, I manage to get x431 from a friend and when I tried to program a key it tells me immobliser unit not normal. Actually the immo unit on the ignition was desoldered in an effort to locate the eeprom, but none was there and apparently, a wire pad on the immo pcb was lifted and broken though was presumably repaired. on putting it back on the car and using x431 I got that message saying immo unit is not normal, so I replaced the unit from another car and still the same immo unit not nnormal is displayed by x431 when tried to program the key. However, I noticed that the car did not even tried to start like it should do when an unmatched key is used to start the car. Some people suggested checking ecu/pcm fuse (will do that today) others point to pcm problem. please I need your advice. thanks

2007 civic hybrid chip# is s93a66 there are two pairs, 4 total on side of board opposite ecu connectors. No need to pull both covers, only the first one when you split the case.

I have a problem with a car that I bought, it's a honda civic 2007 manual transmission, it makes many strange faults, in trying to solve them I realized that the serial of the computer that has mounted is an automatic box car and in fact when scanning it appear All the error codes of the box, obviously because it is trying to design those sensors and box selenoids and this car does not use them. Nice video, I didn't know that this could be done. But I laughed out loud when you said "you want to make sure that the part number matches up exactly". Not because that's bad advice, but because one ECU you showed was a 37820-RV0-A66, and the other is a 37820-RV0-A67.

It's still the same part number. Honda does something like this 37820-RV0-A66 A60 through A75. Meaning they are the same from A60 to A75 as an example.

It’s called supreceded part number, I work on a Honda dealership, if the last digit from the part number is only like one number in difference is basically the same number and part function ,don’t ask me why does American Honda do this lol but they have their reasons, and I hope you learn something today

@@davem1625 Thanks for the information, I have seen that before on some parts. I'm not sure about American Honda, but I know from experience with JDM ECU's that 1 digit can make a big difference. As an example, an ECU with a part number of 37820-PSA-J83 is functionally very different than an ECU with the part number 37820-PSA-J84 since the former is is designed for a standard o2 sensor and the latter is designed for a wideband o2 sensor. I'm not sure if US market ECU's are the same way.

I am swapping out a 2004 DX Engine to a 2005 HX and i will have ECU and have the key that goes with it. Can you put me in contact with someone who knows if it is possible to get the key to work without going to the dealership? Or will I need to replace the immobilizer ring in my car with the immobilizer ring for the HX one that matches the key and ECU? Just want to know the easiest route. Hello, first of thank you for useful video. Second. (2003 accord ) thought you might know - I had a green key light flash at me and sinse car wouldn't start, locksmith came told me its the key immobilizer (the one on the lock cyl with the antena inside) part been ordered amd replaced yet no luck with reprogramming it, still flashing key and therefore doesnt allow for the car to start. Should I concider changing my computer on the vihicle ? Any info is great help . Thanks.

the ignition ring is coded to the car, so if you change it out, honda makes you bring in the car to reprogram the system to read the new part--Honda=stealership

Nah the keys are stored in that chip's memory. There could be more than one, including any lost keys that haven't been erased yet. There are tools that can access the key list from the OBD2 port and you can delete/add more.

You need to clone it or perform replace ecm pcm procedure. You need a good scan tool to do that. I also have a video on that. Sbb will only reprogram your key in to bcm and immobilizer module it will not program it in to the pcm. If you try cloning ur pcm you need to replace 1 or 2 eeproms. I have not done CRV so i am not sure about which number eeprom it is but its usually 93c66 or 93c76 or R56 or R57

I used heat gun. I heated it up around the edgea then very carefully pried it open with a flat tip screwdriver.

Sounds like a bad transmission. Call the Honda dealership and see if the transmission recall was done.

How do you crack open the ECU? You mentioned a heat gun but I'm having trouble opening it. Would you mind showing how to do it or can you be more specific on the details.

@@delacruzjass1831 To do this I had to use a heat gun that was putting out about 1000F (high setting) and let that sit on the edge (facing the flat side) for a while; ~15-30 minutes then move slowly to the next spot. Put aluminum over the connectors so they don't melt. It took me a couple hours to do this right. Use pry bar/ screwdriver with a wrench on the side for leverage to pry it open. Slowly work from a corner and keep going around a little at a time.
