Propagating raspberries in the summer can be a little more finicky than dormant propagation, so I'll try to do another video on multiplying raspberry plants during dormancy in the spring. Happy gardening!

East Texas here! I have been mixing chicken poop into the soil at the bottom of the hole when planting $40.00 potted trees. I have two mandanrin orange trees that I grafted in Feb 2022 that both trees have a bunch of fruit on them their first year! My dad claims that's is un heard of! My dad has been graft citrus for a long time. He is 85yo and this past Feb he was shaking too much so I grafted all 8 trees we had potted in the fall of 2021. Plan to airgraft my mandarin orange trees next spring. I have one trifoliate in a pot that has two limbs that will have to come off this fall getting it ready to graft in Feb 2024. So I'm going to try airgrafting both limbs seeing how they are going to be pruned in Dec.

***Oh, high value watering tip!*** FYI - I don't use bedding in my chicken coops. Treated plywood floors. I have a 25 gallon feed pan that I filled about ⅓ with soil, ⅓ horse manure, ⅓ chicken poop. I've mixed it well. My original plan was to make potting soil out of it but we got a bunch of rain. The "pan" doesn't have drain holes so it filled with water. The water is so full of nutrients it's black! So I used that water on my grafted mandarin orange trees and the $40.00 potted tree I bought, from that day on the transplant day! The growth on the potted citrus was off the chart! Of the 8 I only kept two. But on those two tree most of the grafts had multiple limbs growing off each graft when I planted them in May. They got the chicken poop bed in the bottom of the hole at transplanting. All my grafts are now the same diameter as the sion. Plus one has 10 the larger only 7, but we will harvest fruit off both trees before they reach their one year grafting anniversary!

Im in East Texas. Just getting into "airgrafting". The 100 degree day since May and zero rain is making things tough here on our homestead! I have my first attempt on a pear tree going right now. I also have 8 or so tomato suckers growing in pots. Getting ready for a fall garden.

Thanks for the great info. My Anne variety raspberry plants are bearing loads of fruit this year (their second summer) in spite of sharing their bed with a large gooseberry bush, a rhubarb and a bunch of lupine. I’ll probably dig up some suckers next spring to establish them in a different bed. Out of the 4 varieties I have, Heritage, Boyne, Fall Gold and Anne, the Anne and the Boyne are bearing the best this summer.

Thank you for your video and detailed information. Would you know why the leaves begin to curl off and eventually dry up?

Also, where can I buy the Ann raspberry plants? Where did you originally buy them?

I have blackberries and they are the same process. Very difficult plants to kill. Almost invasive LoL!

Thank you for sharing. I bought a raspberry bush (well stick) from Aldi's in the Spring 🌱 I put it in a huge pot. Should I take it out of the pot so it can have room?

How exciting! Raspberries can thrive in pots, but if you decide to put it in the ground, you’re likely to get more suckers for propagating. But this also means you’d have more upkeep to manage it, so there are pos and cons to both!

Hi Pam! The gold raspberry is the Anne variety - I wish I could remember which nursery we originally picked it up from, but there are quite a few online too!
