I have never cleaned in between my two scope pieces. Great idea.

Would be great to hear your suggestions on preventing and dealing with external fogging

I use a bottle of water, hurricane blower bottle, and a high quality micro fiber cloth. Good solid rinse, blow out all the excess water, then use the micro fiber to gently wipe away any water spots....I have a horse hair brush, a spec grabber, and optics cleaning solution...but I almost never have to use any of it. Not rinsing them before wiping them is asking for scratched coatings....I do take care to keep crap out as much as possible, but stuff still gets in. I run Swaro as well, and have never had issues getting them clean with my method.

I’d recommend cleaning the lens cap first...that way you don’t fod out your clean lenses after cleaning them.

Are those "rags" that come with eyeglasses (graded ones) good to clean binnoculara if clean or never used? (Sorry for bad english)
