First, check how many magic/physical dmg enemy have during draft Second, assess your enemy gameplay in the first 5 minutes. Check who's playing passively/aggressively and their kda's, this would be an indicator on what counter item to build first Third, you don't have to buy "full" counter item in the early game. Just purchase the sub item and complete it when your enemy's have dmg (Usually, when they got their 3rd or 4th items, this applies to antiheal items too)

I won a match with alucard before watching this and even tho I learn how items work this video helped me also when I was playing alucard a sun user was going full dmg no demon hunter just full physical damage so I used blade armor and it significantly reduced the dmg of the sun and helped me beat him

At GM i thought Zilong was an unstoppable force, until i kept meeting paquito, dyrroth, yu zhong users, a hard reality check that zilong is situational and is one of the weakest exp laners in early game, now i use tankier sustain exp laners like alpha, thamuz, or uranus

How to counter plays, don’t follow recommended. Look at their heroes for situations build.. I even saw mythic player buy recommended items which clearly means they do not know how to play… he fought mage fighter and he bought physical tank 2 items 🤦 Roamer and Mid is also magic..
