Before pruning blueberry bushes you want to make sure that the center of your blueberry field rows are level so that when you go down the blueberry row with a 6' foot wide brush cutter the brush cutter will have a nice flat surface to cut on so that it will be able to nicely grab all of the blueberry brush... once you finish pruning blueberries you slowly drive over the brush with a row crop tractor and cut all the brush in the row into fine pieces which get disked back into the blueberry soil

I've had my plants for about 4 years now. last year I was going to start pruning them but I waited until it got cold. then it immediately got warm and they started to wake up so I didn't do it last year. I'm going to do it now and this video is very helpful. I don't want to overdo it and kill the plants. Thanks for this tutorial!

Loved this...we have just 12 high bush but they are well over 10 years old and getting out of control, although the yield has been great, it's just 'messy' looking. This was the one video that was short, to the point and great to know. Thanks for the video. I will now move on to more of your videos! That blueberry field irrigation is simply drip tubbing for blueberries that is snaked around every couple blueberry bushes. It is never removed from the blueberry field, but maybe replaced once every 10 years or so, it's very cheap to buy, as a 1,000 ft roll of drip irrigation tubing for blueberries cost only about $150, and you only need 3 rolls per ace, plants spaced 2.5' feet apart x 1,200 blueberry plants per are, is 3,000 feet per are of drip tubing, call our farm anytime: (609) 561-5905

Looks like a wonderful field. Only suggestion would have been if you held camera still right close to plant for a few seconds and then closer as they were pruning. Which I know is difficult as their working. Then a still zoom on finished product so we can compare and contract before & after. Will love to stop by when we're ever in the area. You should prune older blueberry bush canes to promote blueberry bush vigor and to also encourage larger blueberries rather than small blueberries, because the name of the game in commercial blueberry growing is growing as many pounds of blueberries per acre as possible on the blueberry farm
