Air is for disengaging the brakes So yes But on this one no we put in caging bolts to manually release them

It's explained briefly at the end of the video. If you tow the vehicle without removing the half axle, even in neutral, the spinning wheels will spin the gears in the transmission. But the engine of the truck is off, so it's not having oil pumped through it, or it's not being actively cooled, or whatever other protective measures are missing when the engine is off. So the transmission gets burned up/damaged, potentially. In the general case with a plain (non-limited-slip) diff, removing just one half axle will allow the other rear wheels to spin without spinning the driveshaft/transmission, leading to elimination of risk of damage to transmission, not to mention lower towing friction.
