Thank you! I now realize the lever that pushes the gear is broken on one side and that the piece is taped into the case. Now I have to figure out how to take it out to reattach it.

Great explanation, thank you for sharing. I just received my Great Grandfather's Ansonia Gingerbread mantle clock and been researching. It has not run in many years but appears to be in good shape. Definitely fascinating!

Good video, using a damaging method. To prove that the pallet is not aligned to the escapement wheel (either way for adjustment), you could also put a penny under each of the front and back feet to the left or right (Non-damaging method) and work out which way the adjustment needs to be to correct the sound balance... takes a bit of listening and thought, but doesn't cause bending of the current arrangement unless needed😉

Great video. Any advice on how to do this on a banjo clock that hangs on wall? Unless I build some kind of stand, there is no way to get to the back of the clock... Thanks

Very good video. I have a Mantle Clock, German, and it uses an escapement type mechanism (if that is the correct terminology?). The Main Spring does ratchet anymore so need to get working on it. Wind and it unwinds when I let go of the Key. Hopefully I can fix it. Will look at your other videos.

Wow,now that I know about this, I am going to try this on my clock. My house is bullt on a hilly area and I have to use like quarter inch shims on one side to raise it up a bit or else the clock won't run.I tried doing that but gave up to easy because I didn't think it would work.

Where can a guy find parts for a clock like this. ? The one i have like this is missing the part the pendulum swings on. It almost looks a a wire its hanging off of.
