In today's video, I'm showing you how to put a NATO strap on your Omega Speedmaster, the right way. Honestly, this technique applies to majority of watches.

I just switched my Seamaster from the bracelet to a NATO and I love it. I feel asleep with it on and when I woke up it felt so natural I almost jumped in the shower with it on. Very comfortable even in heat and humidity and with so many options it's easy to try out new looks.

The ways you can customise your Speedmaster and Seamaster are literally endless. I like wearing my Omegas on NATO straps as well!

Using the spring bar tool can sometimes cause it to slip and scrap the watch. I would personally mask up the area around the pins to avoid a scratch

Good approach and will save you scratching the watch, but I still like to do it as I explained in the video.

I don't understand how to remove the spring bars on my 57'. once the spring is off, I am applying as much pressure as possible with my thumb on the first link, nothing moves, not a single millimeter. I tried pressing towards me, towards the back, upwards, nothing happens. I know the spring is off, I see the tip out of the hole. No idea how it can be done. I want to do it myself and switch between the bracelet and natos when I want.

The main thing is to understand how the spring bars are made. They have different points that you can catch with your spring bar tool. You have to catch the point closest to the lug. Once you feel that the spring bar doesn’t sit in the lug, move the end link slightly out so it spring back. Whilst applying the same pressure, move on to the next side and repeat the process. The main thing is to hold the end link whilst pushing it out, so there is no way of spring bars clicking back into the lug.

@@TheWatchCEO Thanks for the reply, I chose another approach: I disconnected the bracelet, I could then easily try to pull the link in the opposite direction of the case and the springs popped out immediately! Trying to apply a force perpendicular to the case does not work at all on the 57' case.

@@Vilmir it all comes with some practice. Everyone will eventually work out the best way of detaching the bracelet without incurring scratches

I think the length is just about 28cm.

I like that they provide these straps in the box but it seems a little silly for them to give a nato with the sapphire sandwich. Personally, I wouldn't want to cover up the case back.

Well, if you wear your watch, then you wouldn't necessarily see the case back :) And if you wish to admire the case back, just unlace the NATO. Keep well!
