We went to visit the experts at Bloomingdale's in Manhattan to get some answers.

number of sprays depends on type and strength of the fragrance. never rub fragrance, that will just kill the notes!

Lord thats where youre wrong. My uncle is a professional cologne salesman here in italy and he always told me to never rub cologne.

Kevin Rodriguez I think not even fragrance oil you rub it just put it apply it same thing method with the cologne apply it I been seen woman's & my mother & they spray it on the cloth & wash the cloth in the washing machine fresh & clean going smell more & in the heat or winter & sometimes it,s all depend the open pores of the person & what they eat & take the shower so the body is not pores clog with sebum dirt so the fragrance don, t get stuck & spread like angels wings & keep in mind that smell more when is woman perfume & when the cloth is clean from the watching machine this are the real tips that you had to kept in the big head before wear a cologne or a perfume or fragrance perfume oil before put it

omginvalid no it kills the note breakdown. There are top mid and base notes of the fragrances. When you rub it, it destroys what the fragrance is suppose to smell like. The top notes basically disappear. One spray to each side of your neck is what i suggest. And not to close. Let the mist hit your neck. You don't want a blotch of spray dripping down your neck by a close spray.

Some colognes have very weak scents therefore a little more than recommended is ok.

Justice ForPinoys I put on a ton of cologne. It fades. I like it on my chest, my arms, behind my ears, my neck, a lot of places. All the pretty girls compliment me. I never get a complaint.

I put 5 sprays on of Curve Black or Nautica Voyage 1 spray on each side of the neck which = 2 sprays 1 on the back of the neck which = 3 and 1 on each forearm which = 2 more. And the total is 5 sprays, also don’t spray cologne or fragrance if you haven’t showered yet. Fragrance over BO don’t mix

He lost all credibility when he said rub the cologne with your wrist, you never rub the cologne with your wrist because you're mixing up the chemicals therefore distorting the fragrance. They must have interview the first guy they saw in the Macy's cologne section

Nice video. Liked and subscribed. I agree with most of the advice here but tend to spray a bit much. I did a REAL fragrance application video in which I'm afraid I exceeded 2 or 3 sprays!

I used to use Avon's Black Suede. My mother had me cologned since I was a baby, with even lighter scents. I got to high school and by popular demand, I had to change my $10 spritz to any top name brand, but I settled with Polo. At the Cincinnati Outlet Mall, at Luxury Beauty Store, a $100 bottle for $33, if I ask for the sale day. Now I shower when I get home and spritz for myself. One behind the knees, one in front of the elbows, (the hot spots), one on the neck, one behind the ears, and Old Spice is my deodorant. Feedback is generally positive. (All day, all the way home.)

MARS just get a small bottle with atomizer (aka sprayer) on top...pour your "liqiud" inside and spray it😂 or you can search for "travelling perfume atomizer " on amazon or ebay

The dab ons are more concentrated so they last longer, but it really just depends on how you use it

Strong Cologne.. One spray center of the neck and one shot under the shirt, then press each wris on the chest. Lighter silage Cologne two sprays on the pulse points of the neck. The key is smelling good without smelling like Cologne. Never ever Ever spray Three or more on any Cologne. If a girl comes up to you and. Says "wow you smell like CK one" or "you smell like Creed Aventus" it's not a compliment even if it's meant to be. If your scent can be recognized, you fail and need to reevaluate the situation.

The dude probably has good intentions, but he gives lousy advice. Perfume on/under your own nose? what the f*ck? He didn't cover the fact that some perfumes are more potent than others. Spraying the "hands" is really stupid, I think he meant wrists. My advice would be to go easy when you've bought a new perfume, maybe two sprays max on your first wear to test how it's performing. After that gradually increase the amount as needed. Also, do not be afraid to make your favorite perfume a part of your personality. If people want to avoid you because of the fragrance you're wearing, it's their loss :-) Overspraying has no consequences if you're in a well-ventilated area.

Sometimes when you spray on your wrist, you can't get the full scent so if you wipe it softly you can smell it, not sure why, I think it's when you come across cheap aftershave.

I've heard this many times, and want to believe you're correct, however I've never seen any evidence for this claim. Personally I would imagine In a blind test it would be pretty difficult to tell if a body part has perfume directly sprayed onto it, or rubbed from another part. Still, I'd love to be presented some evidence because this myth is being perpetuated by pretty much every KZfaq fragrance expert!
