This is a short video that shows how to put the Ninja Foodi SmartLid sealing ring back on.
If you still can’t get the seal back on, try adding a little bit of cooking oil to your finger or to the seal itself. The oil will make it slippery and it should slide back on easily.

Thanks for the OIL suggestion! It worked! Was so frustrated!!!!!!

Thank you thank you the OIL WORKED! I was so frustrated I was ready to return the whole thing and give up just trying to set it up! They say step 1 is remove the seal and clean it with the other pots. They did not mention step 2 is scream in frustration for an hour because the seal won't go back under the ring! I completely lubed the seal with the food grade mineral oil I use on my cutting boards and it slid right on easy peasy. Thank you!!!

Great to see I'm not the only one to find this quite fiddly... I was worried that I might break something because it requires so much pressure. There's definitely a knack to rolling it into place!

Thank you! You have saved the Ninja from being thrown through the window and the silicone ring from becoming a frisbee. What a palaver! Last time that baby comes out.

Thank God for KZfaq and this video. I've used pressure cookers for years and never had this much trouble. I was sure I would never get it back on after washing it out of the box. The oil did it!

Thank you for the video, but especially for the HINT REGARDING THE COOKING OIL! It would not go on no matter how hard I tried because it wouldn't fit behind the four wires holding the seal wire. When I coated it with cooking oil it just flew on in seconds with almost no effort.

Just got mine and my struggle was at 3 (think clock) where there is a screw. I'll try a spot of oil and do that bit first. The rest of the ring went in easily.

This didn’t work for me either. What DID work was applying a tiny amount of cooking oil to the seal and it will slid right into place under the wire seal holder.

I have tried this but no sooner than I have it in one place, it pops out in another. I am thoroughly disgusted with this ring. I do, however, thank you for taking the time to make this video.

Oh no! I’m sorry you’re having such a hard time. Maybe call Ninja and see if they can help. Maybe your ring is a tad bit too small?

@@TheTastyTravelers I just spoke with them and they mentioned that they could send me another ring since of course it is still under warranty. I told her that I really did not think that the ring was bad, just my inability to do it. But you know since you mentioned about maybe the ring is a bit too small, I am thinking of calling them back and getting them to send me another ring. This is about to drive me up the wall! Thank you for your advice.

It shouldn't be this hard. Everything about the Foodi makes me miss the Instant Pot I gave away, thinking I was "upgrading." Just ordered a replacement Instant Pot amd wishing I could throw this in the trash.

I hear hissing noise while pressure cooking, it builds pressure but steam comes out during cooking , can you help me please
@TheTastyTravelers
@TheTastyTravelers Жыл бұрын
Double check to make sure that the valve is moved to the seal position and that the sealing ring is in correctly. It's normal for a little bit of steam to come out throughout the pressure cooking time, but there should not be a lot and it should not be consistent. If steam is coming out the entire time, then something is wrong.

Seems like with the ninja foodie (old and new modeis) more time will be spent cleaning it and fiddling with stuff to get it back into place. Sorry I would rather spend more time cooking. One would think the people who design these tools either cook or clean but not both. And as for the accessories, have they even heard of the word stackable? I assume that intelligent people designed these tools but I don’t think they’ve had much kitchen experience L O L.

i have spent 90 minutes trying to get this stupid ring back into the lid, I took the advice from the instructions to remove it and wash it before cooking anything, I STILL can’t use it because the damn silicone ring just won’t go back in, I honestly wouldn’t recommend buying this particular model save your £249.99, and there is no help whatsoever from Ninja, I am bitterly disappointed, I have only had it for 2 weeks I am definitely going for a refund - total rubbish, it is the 15 in 1.

Try putting a little bit of cooking oil on the ring. Many folks have had luck doing that. It slides around into place more easily.
