Do you mean in Instagram? 🙂 Try giving your app an update, it may just need that as it rolls out at different times for different users!

My version of IG doesn't have the CAPTION option. The App is up to date. Do you know why?

Hey Sabrina! It may depend on what country you are in, too! Outside of that, perhaps you can report an issue to Instagram from your account and say that you don't have this and see what they suggest or say 🙂

I would have loved to have acces to one of those but unfortunately Caption is still not available in France on instagram and CapCut does not yet generate French captions ... c

when i add the project on cap cut from Ig, it deletes the audio when i save my reel. how do you get around that? I did the voiceover on ig itself first

Hi! Unfortunately this will happen because of Instagram's copyright 😢 With that said, if you're recording on IG and then just need to edit in CapCut you can then upload back to IG (when you're done editing) and add the sound back on!

Hey! If you use CapCut, you could do this 🙂 Or, you could manually write them out to achieve the exact look that you're wanting!

Hey Kimberly! For this, you may have to manually type them out because it's technically "background music" in a way 🙂 Sorry there isn't a better solution for this!

Hi Louise! Curious if you know if the capcut option gets recognized by tiktok's SEO. I keep hearing that using the native captions and text in the app you're using is the best for key word searches?

Hey! Great question! I keep hearing both sides (that it matters but then that it doesn't) so it's hard to really tell what will help us with Tik Tok's SEO/algorithm. Keep in mind that Tik Tok will also process SEO for captions, hashtags, and based on your other account too - so if it is captions that they are reading then this will just be one small part of it!

Very informative! Thank you! How about if I wanted to translate one language to English in the reel? For example, I speak mandarin in my video, would there be a function in instagram to translate to English captions? Thank you 🙏🏻

Hey! Unfortunately there isn't a feature within Instagram to do this 😢 However, you could try to do this in CapCut and see if it will translate into another language for you! If not, then you could manually add them in using CapCut!

Hi there- but if a novice.. is there a way to add saved effects to photos from your saved pics on phone? I can only seem to add certain effects

Hey Rebecca! Some will allow you to do this, but some filters/effects can only be applied when filming within the app! To choose an image/video outside of the Instagram camera: open the camera in Instagram > in the bottom left corner there should be a Square with an image inside of it > click this and it should take you to your image folder (from your phone) > click the image you want and this will add it to the camera so that you can add the effects! I hope this helps!!

Hmm, my understanding was that all IG accounts had this option! However, it may still be rolling out to some areas 🙂 Ensure your phone app is up to date and maybe it will pop in soon!

So im not understanding something. I only have 3 auto-caption styles available. You have 4. Also, the captions are in a wird fancy font and I have no way to change it. Is there a way to change the font and size of auto captions and do you also k ow why i dont have a 4th?

Hey! So sometimes Instagram takes some time to roll out different features, and depending on where you are, you may find different features become available at different times 🙂 So if you're not seeing it, hold tight - it's likely coming! To change which type of caption you have, you can swipe along the fonts at the bottom of the screen and the caption will update accordingly! I hope this helps!

When I use the sticker caption option in IG and choose the first one (which has big font and different sizes for different words) the captions seem to move with my head movement. Do you know how to make that stop?

Hey Gila! Unfortunately, this is just how that particular caption feature works! There isn't a way to customize when this changes size. So sorry about that!

Hmm, it shouldn't take too long but will definitely depend on your device, wifi connection, and the length of the video 🙂

Is there still a 15 second limit to captions on insta stories? I’m assuming Capcut doesn’t have this?

Not anymore! This has been updated on IG, and now it's 60 seconds per story slide 🙂 If your video is longer than 60 seconds, you could cut it and then upload each video to IG and use their caption - or, you could you upload the entire video to capcut and use their caption tools and then cut the video to be 60 seconds increments! Both of these should work 🙌

It can be! You can choose a still from your video itself, or you can actually upload a thumbnail image as the cover (so it could be entirely different text) 🙂

On the free version, yes! Which could technically be trimmed out as well 🙂 And on the paid plan there is no watermark, too!

Hey there! Oh no! First I would make sure that your app is up to date, as it may just be that you haven't received that update yet 🙂 If that doesn't work, I would try the second option of using CapCut (it's free!) and then uploading to Instagram instead!

Hey there! When you're creating a story, there should be a smiley face at the top of the screen in a square - this is what you would want to click! Then, from this menu, you can click captions to add the captions right to it 🙂 I hope this helps clarify!
