How to Quickly Provision a Yealink T3 Series IP Phone on 3CX

In today's video, I will be showing you how you can quickly provision your Yealink T3 Series IP Phone on your cloud/remote hosted 3CX server.
This method ONLY works for Yealink IP Phones and the 3CX PBX.
This is my first video on this channel, so please bear with me. Thanks!

I am new to this. I just want one phone to use to call with but i'm so confused on how everything works like what cables do I plug in to what and what do I need to make this work. And do these call real phone numbers?

Is there a way I can do it with a phone not listed like the ShoreTel 230?

You will have to manually provision the phone. Create an extension and input the information manually into your phones web interface. Note: I do not work with 3CX Installations anymore and I've pivoted to FreePBX. Information I give out may be outdated

@@tpzd1063 It's more flexible, it's free as there is no licensing for the base program, and it has more compatibility with other phones I have.

I bought a Yealink T31P arriving this afternoon, but I actually do have another question- how does the phone know the IP/link of the server automatically?

I believe it is related to Yealink RPS.

Nice video, very helpful.... but How do you get that config screen? I'm logged in on the desktop app... and i can see that where you get the link to config the yealink phones. Please help. Thanks.

You need to be an administrator in 3CX to access the configuration screen. If you aren't and you only have access to the 3CX Desktop app, then you need to contact your organization administrator so they can set it up for you.

How the device contacted the 3cx PBX when we plugged the ethernet? How the device came to know it needed to connect to the 3cx? We only configured the Mac address of the device on 3cx. Can they find the device by Mac from the internet? Maybe these are silly questions, I'm new in this world.

Well, when the device connects to ethernet and powers on, it contacts the Yealink Remote Provisioning Service where it transmits MAC Address information, IP, and more. This then can be used by the 3CX server to send configuration files, which is when the phone then provisions using those files.

@@Martin-NT Ok, that's a new thing to me. Thanks for this information. So 3cx will get ip & other info from Yealink and they update the configuration from remote. One more doubt. If anybody with the Mac address can update the configuration, there is security risk, right?

With the Direct SIP option, can the phone be located on any network with web access?

Yes, the phone can be provisioned using Direct SIP is the server is not on the same local area network as the IP Phone.

After working smoothly for one day with 3CX, the Yealink phone now displays "Account Unregistered". Is there a solution available for this issue?

This can be caused for a multitude of reasons. Log into the phone and check the configuration, try to also read the logs in the 3CX Management Console as it can tell you if any issues are occurring and recognized by the server. Feel free to email me if you require further assistance.

No need to specify the IP or FQDN of your PBX in to the Yealink phone??

Apparently no, if you want to provision it through the web interface though you could do it that way.

What do I do if "VOIP" shows up instead of a three digit number in your case yours was 475

Don't worry, that's the default setting for your PBX. You can change it through the phones web interface if you'd like.

Do I need a wifi router to connect the phone to or does 3CX Do that?

You need to connect it to a router/network switch for internet, then provision it into 3CX.

@@That0neKid221 Every building/home has a router. If you don't have one, you need another way to provide internet access to the phone such as a network appliance with LAN ports that access the internet.
