How to quickly troubleshoot an LG dishwasher

Troubleshoot an LG dishwasher when there's no power at the control panel. 1) Check the door latch switches and assembly, 2) Check for continuity with the Noise filter fuse. 3.) Check for continuity at the control board.

what was the red line for was the fuse white at first?

Just adding this my model is a LDF5545BD, I had no error code the lights were flashing but it would not start, on pushing the start button it would count down from 4,3,2,1 and would stop. My problem did turn out to be one of the switches on the door lock assembly. Replaced it, now my washer works fine. Hope the bit of info helps someone.

Hi Daniel I have a similar model quadwash truesteam here in Australia. My issue is that the water doesn’t heat. No errors show in the control panel. What do you reckon it is? Heat element? Do you know how to access the machine to pull out the heat element? Thanks

What happens if half of the panel (right side plus start) isn't responding, could this be a faulty panel?

It sounds like the problem is isolated to the button panel or at the touch panel connector but it may be a symptom to a larger issue involving water intrusion. See if there is water damage on the board or at the connector. If there is, repair the seal. Silicone works well. After drying it completely, see if it works. If it still doesn't work, consider replacing the panel. If there is water damage, the new board will possibly become damaged too if water is allowed to enter.

@@envisionCAM were getting a repair guy to come this week since we're still under warranty. Worse comes to worse I'll figure out what needs to be done. I just don't have the time to diagnose it myself having a day job and all...

@@CreativelyWarped Makes sense. If it's under warranty, it's best not to disassemble the unit, it will void the warranty and the repairman may leave without fixing the issue.

So if I have a red line on the fuse in the control board that likely means the fuse is blown?

I may have been wrong with that information. It may have been coincidental that there was a red line on the fuse. I'm not certain. However, that would be a useful feature, if it were true.

The red line has nothing to do with a blown fuse or not….the red line is an indication of size or more specific amount of amps that the fuse can handle. Learned in electrical school …. Bad Booze Rots Our Young Guts, But Vodka Goes Well, which stands for Black Brown Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Violet Grey White , and each color has an amps rating….so just as an example to explain this let’s say that Black is 100 amps, Brown is 20 amps, Red is 5 amps, all the way down to White that is 0.25 Amp. So 1 Red stripe means the fuse can handle up to 5 amps 2 Red stripes means the fuse can handle up to 10 amps 1 Brown stripe and 1 Red stripe means the fuse can handle up to 25 amps Etc… so with different colour options you can reach the proper amps need

Where is the screw to take out your main control board? I see the two tabs but not the screw.

I bought a replacement control board. It cost me about $150. You may still have an issue with moisture causing a short with the latch switches.

Two comments. 1. How did you determine what looks like a resistor in the board is a fuse? 2. Did you replace the entire board? You never stated the complete story on this.
