Hi Mark, followed your instructions and have been harvesting adult brine shrimp for month's now. All I have to do is feed them and a water change now and again. Now have an endless supply of brine shrimp. Great for conditioning fish to breed. Great video

What I find so cool and so engaging about Mark is his attitude toward life. He has the camera on a small volume of aquarium water of perhaps ~ 60 cu.in. of habitat, and he sees an absolute universe of life. He meticulously points everything out to you. Amazing. What I've always experienced, wonderful. My kinda person. This dude's in-touch. Sensitive. Competent. Responsible. Honest. Learned. Sincere. Not-too-much. I don't want his head to get too big. It is true though. I'm very impressed. I've not seen the likes of him anywhere on the net. He is very good at hands-on plain this-is-how-you-do-it step by step easy very well shown illustrated procedure. Excellent. Mark, write some bloody books man ! Thank you so very much. Your worth more than you know, believe me. I've kept fish since 1968.

I was so inspired by this video I recently remember I had a vile of brine cysts sitting in the fridge for the last 4-5 years grabbed a shot glass some salt water from the reef and a old halogen lamp. Sure enough little buggers swimming around. no air. I seeded some into the refugium which has a bunch of other pods in there some quite big under magnification. Really a wonderful and insightful video sir !

@@Steves_fish technically yes they are cysts not eggs but eggs is much easier for people to understand “oh these hatch into brine shrimp”

Put the little tank in my boys room next morning they had been knocked all over the floor... 🙄🤣 I have fish tanks anyway and had always fancied hatching my own and feeding live food so I bought a puch of brine shrimp eggs on amazon, hatched a million eggs, fed majority but I want to raise a few for the kids in a little 14 litre tank. Well, that's what i wanted ti see, thank you very much for explaining this to us and espwcially to me, it was always easy to hatch them and to feed fish day or two but problem was to keep them alive longer then 5-6 days, i did it only once and with obly one single shrimp alive for 5 weeks it grow up to 13-14mm long and was vwry interesting to watch it in ball aquarium swimming around.... But id end up like all others before him at the end...

Hi Mark, i followed this video to the T and afraid after a week, my bbs havent grown at all and from a few thousand, only got a few that have survived, salinity checks out as per your recommendation, separate tank with air filter etc, any idea what may have gone wrong? Does the light need to be on all the time? How much do you feed them each day or only once a day? Did you use normal tap water or RO water in your tank? Thanks for the great videos

I have a question about air flow at the different life stages... I’ve managed to hatch mine, and I’ve moved them into a slightly bigger tank with an air pump, but the air pump is pretty fast... if it’s too fast will it kill the babies?
@CrowntailHalfmoon5 жыл бұрын
Super excited Mark. Thank you so so much. Gr8 information Do you do any water changes and if the water evaporates do you top up with plain water? How often do you feed spirulina? When u mixup the spirulina in tube do you store in fridge? How long do you grow them up until you feed it? Do you restart culture or Its self sustaining after 2 weeks?
@MARKSAQUATICS5 жыл бұрын
I normally make more water up and keep it in a 25 litre tank then do 10% water changes once a week. Replace evaporation with fresh dechlorinated water . Just cloud the water with food then once it clears that means they've eaten it. Then add more.
@CrowntailHalfmoon5 жыл бұрын

sorry for noob question but if im just starting to RO my water do i have to remineralise on the first or second water change on a raw tapwater tank?
@mimiru1995 Жыл бұрын
One batch every 3-6 days and havent been able to get past the Nauplii stage. When they start to die off i feed as many as i can get out to the fish and restart. I'm using two glass flower vases that are rounded, no corners. Temps vary, 70-81, heat pad. Mini air pump working, had it with an air stone, it was going a fair bit. Just now removed the stone and tied two loose knots. Now at a constant stream of bubbles with small gaps between, they follow single file. No issues hatching. After 3 or so days remove eggshells. Day two/three start sprinkling in a tiny bit of powder from Algae thins by top fin. Has wheat flour, spirulina, yeast and other additives. Going to try switching to straight spirulina powder now, but this food has had them last the longest. Some natural light, mostly a regular bulb thats lighting up the room. Keep the eggs in the freezer and do the 1 to 2 TBSPs of salt per vase. Just ordered a sponge filter to put on the end of it. When I think they need a water change i will switch to the other vase. I account for salt I did or did not wipe off from the sides when adding more. Add a half turkey baster of my aquarium water as well so that there are bacteria. (Am now trying it). And try to keep a similar temp when moving. Ideas? Thanks all x
