How do you raise a confident child? It's important to always remember that our job as parents is to love our child no matter what and even if because these tips are nothing more than manipulation if we lose sight of our primary job. Here are a few things to help our kids to become confident:
1. Give your child a task that they can handle.
2. You're going to hope that they blow it.
3. Let consequences teach.
4. Give them the same challenge again.
Happy parenting!
Watch and Enjoy!

Oh yeah, it worked really well! He came home, started sobbing the moment he saw me. I empathized. He then seemed to feel quite proud of himself for enduring "starvation". Early this morning he made sure he had his lunch box the moment he came down. Thanks for sharing your wisdom.

I really needed this. It goes against the grain. The instinct is to not want your children to fail! Ever. But as I watched this I realized I had an experience recently with my fourteen-year-old where these steps happened. (I didn't do it. I don't know what I'm doing.) But somehow they happened anyway and I can see how much it helped him. Thanks for the advice. I'll keep trying!

I do not argue that you need to love your child. But this is not helping them to develop True Self Confidence. Developing True Self Confidence comes from accomplishing things that they enjoy. Telling them that they are loved, they are so kind, they are so good looking and on and on creates a false sense of Self Confidence. This type of confidence will almost assuredly cause them to get bullied. You need to help them build True Self Confidence based upon actual accomplishments. Something they have to work at to continue to get better. The more accomplishments they become good at the more it will boost their self-confidence. This subject is one of the main tenets of my book "My Do's and Dont's for Bully-Proofing Your Child."

@LiveOnPurposeTV
@LiveOnPurposeTV 4 жыл бұрын
Tolu E, the best consequences are immediate and natural ones. It is hard to speak to every situation, so if you are having trouble coming up with something, talk to another parent who has children similar to yours or a teacher of even ask the kid. Often they punish harsher than the parent.

Parent: "Hunny... Go get your bike helmet on" Kid: "but, I can't find it." Kid gives up... (blows it) Starts riding before you had time to stop them and... Thump! They fall and bash their head on the pavement (possibly has a concussion) .... Parent: "But I love you no matter what and even if... (gives big hugs) Now go try it again" 🤣🤣🤣 PS: FYI this never happened to us in our family😂

👋 hello, first of all thank you for this channel I’m always coming here to educate myself, now when you mention to “ love them no matter what or even if “ as far as children are concern what does this exactly mean cause love language is a spectrum. Or if you did a video covering this subject would you kindly send me to that direction. Thank you again 😊

@LiveOnPurposeTV 5 жыл бұрын
Mariana Medina, the phrase came naturally as I would tell parents that there number one job was to love their children and they would say, "Even if (fill in the blank)," and I would say yes. That is why parents need to talk to their child in a calm face, calm body, calm voice. The child may not like what the parent is saying, but they won't get confused with a parent who is exploding at them and wonder if their parent loves them. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.

Hi, I’m having some issues with my son. The mother and I are separated. In his education he’s not accelerating I’m having to get on him for everything chores, studying/math exercises. May there be anything underlying I should look into ? He’s often absent like his mind is elsewhere . His mother allows him to sit for hours on the video games and I know its messing with his focus. Is there a video or any advice you can share with this kind of situation. My parenting skills don’t match the mothers, so I have to restart my whole process every visit I get with him.

You practice. Good parenting is a skill that you develop as you open up to the possibility of being a better parent. You’re here and that’s trying, so kuddos, mama. My personal commitment with this (through a lot of fails obviously -and not a super easy childhood) is the fact that I can give them a better childhood than I had by just trying to better myself in the areas where I feel I could do 99% better. It can be very empowering to learn the tools if you open yourself to the curiosity of being a better parent. It is like being two people; a bit awkward at first but the more you practice what you learn, the more chances you have to make that a permanent parenting method. Sending you hugs and strength ❤️

@LiveOnPurposeTV
@LiveOnPurposeTV 4 жыл бұрын
R26Roman, thank you for watching and trying to understand. Remember, first you want to let your child know that you love them. It would be beneficial if you lovingly explained the importance of an education for their adult life and then supported them in that. We don't want them to fail in school, however we can't control whether or not they do. Perhaps another attempt could be seen as another attempt at a test or an essay. If the teacher does not allow second attempts, they could try to do better on the next one. When children don't understand their lessons, you can either help them at home or encourage them to get tutoring at school.
