I have a golden and a black lab and You’ve really opened my eyes to brush types. Always used the shedding blade, but just ordered a rake and the other brush, excited to see how much more fur comes out! Thanks for a great video

OK I have 2 year old a black male labrador myself ... I just use a furminator ... once a month ... but sometimes he really starts to shed a lot and I (or my wife) have to vacuum twice every day. I think I'm going to get these tools and start grooming him more often.

I heard the furminator is actually not good for the dogs coat but I can’t remember why sorry!

@@lindseyvasquez6305 yeah I can relate to that and plus on double coated dogs like Labradors, Huskies, Pomeranians, and Great Pyrenees it can do a lot of damage to their top coat. My grandparents have a pomsky (Pomeranian-Husky mix) and they use the furminator on her and every time I see her, her coat is not as fluffy as it was from when she was a puppy and when I saw one of my KZfaqrs post a video on how she groomed her Belgian Shepherd Tervuren (also a double coated dog) she also mentioned that the brush can not only ruin their top coat but can also take some of the guard hairs out of the top layer coat as well.

This is super helpful! I have a lab/shepherd mix and the combination of brushes makes so much sense! Are labs supposed to every get a haircut? I’ve seen conflicting information and it seems like mostly no because of the double coat, but what about paws and groin area? It just seems like that hair get so long and I’m not sure what’s supposed to be done with it.

I have 2 labs (one six month old chocolate and a 3 year old yellow) thank you for teaching us about grooming my parents always complain about when the two come inside so now I know how to groom them properly thank you! Also quick question what could cause my chocolate to have wavey fur on his back? It’s cute I was curious why

I just bought a firm body horse brush, do you think it works the same as the de shedding blade you used? Also, does a furminator for short hair work the same as a rake? Furminator now has a rake too. Thanks for your input. I have an 8 year older lab mix who loves to be brushed. So much he rolls over, sighs and doesn’t want to get up.

Molly came in every 6 weeks,unfortunately Molly passed away about 2yrs ago..We miss her terribly..

IDK what breed my dog is at this point. he looks like a black lab but his fur doesn't get an undercoat i don't think and he isn't very soft fur wise like his fur can feel like needles

My black lab (also called Molly) gets nowhere near this amount of fur coming out when I groom her (furminator/zoom groom/slicker/bristle brush). She's a lot more of a petite, slender build compared to Molly in the video and her coat is not as thick/dense. She's a little girl at around 26-27kg

Start grooming straight away to get him used to the brush, start off with short sessions and reward him for standing still. Don’t get angry with him for trying to bite the brush, they all need to learn. The younger the better.

Mi perra labradora chocolate tiene caspa por todo su cuerpo hace unos 2 meses, hay quien me dice que es por exceso de bañarla y la veterinaria me mando un champu dermocanis alergia un baño semanal pero ha ido peor también le mando dermadiet comprimidos y no ha mejorado puede ser que tenga esa caspa como esta perrita y le aga falta lo que usted le ha hecho a ella ese rastrillado ? mason miller puppies dont shed, but you should get it used to getting groomed, it will help when its fully grown, it will be calm and used to the process

Hi! I have a female black lab and I want to try this with her however she has this like lumps on her back. Do you know what these are caused by and how I could get rid of them? Her diet is currently all wet food I order her food from butternut box. Thanks!

I'm really sure it could depend on her age,ect..a vet could probably answer that better, but you can still use the process in the video, just have to be extra careful around her bumps..thank you for watching us..

Shouldn’t you wash the dog dry then rake? seems to be cleaner that way

Always rake,and brush first,to loosen ,and remove any dander,and undercoat,then wash away in tub...Saturating the undercoat with water will thicken it,and make it harder to remove later..Thank You..
