@@Stouty Mechanically you are correct; but I think its worth noting you can still have fun, engaging and interesting fights if you ignore these "rules". I wear light armor, I morph feint even when im being read and chambered, I focus more on entertaining myself in a duel with footwork and visually stimulating maneuvers. Sure its off meta, I die alot more than I win, and I'm not considered very good, but I have fun. I agree that mord has fundamental issues with the gameplay, especially if you want to be efficient and "competitive" but again; I feel like its worth noting that mord still gives you the tools to have fun fights. Obviously its not always the case and does depend on if your opponent wants to play ball as well. But thats why I play with friends and acquaintances on low stakes duel servers. I would absolutely agree that the competitive scene is in shamble however. Thats just my two cents though.

Mine improves. I like the shortsword decorated seax skin and a medic bag in invasion...I've overplayed longbow - it's gotten boring and I don't even aim anymore.

The game itself isn't the determining factor on how it would affect players. If someone is prone to anger or dishevelment, sure the game could have a negative impact but thats true for anything that challenges you. I have no problem admitting mord has fundamental issues mechanically; but I still have fun. I find it stimulating to blow off some steam and challenge myself in engaging fights that actually get my blood pumping. Of course this wont be the case for everyone; but my point being is the reaction is much more dependent on the individual rather than the game itself.

Shields are shit now considering you can’t hold your parry.

@@thevigilant6884 you could counter shields back then at some point, because a kick had huge range against held shields and you'd get stunned. You also couldn't attack out of it. Shield wall definitely needs to cost stamina while holding.

Man even if you were right you cant complain how broken they are. Shield gives you much more space to parry with than two handed weapon so its historically acurate that shields are better in use when its 1vx. I also thinking that shields on back should gives extra meele protection.

nah man Zwei's and halberds with heavy armor is much easier. Drags aren't impressive because you have all day to drag with those weapons. Same with morphs. Not to mention two handers just look awful in this game animation wise. There's much more skill involved with using these lower tier weapons than the larger 1-2 shot weapons. Mostly because with the Axe/Warhammer getting someone to spazz out and block is much more rewarding to punish them for. I'll take my axe/round shield combo any day of the week over Zweis/Greats/Messers because of how great it feels to land hits on lower output weapons to really get in people's heads. But i mean ded game in a couple of weeks anyway so might as well get good at Chiv 2. It'll be here a while.

I'm not saying you are entirely wrong but fun and effective footwork is still possible. Sure it off meta and you may lose more often than not but if slap on some light armor and focus on movement and it can be really fun. just my opinion obviously

@@GomulDart It's not, you can only do awkward diagonal running around your opponent, that's just learning how to abuse the changes and turn cap. You used to be very nimble and precise, bait people into missing etc. 90% of duels now are just exchanging late riposte drags, accels, and mixing up between the two

Damage should be more dependent on armor with bows in order to encourage plate or brigandines, it would add a more realistic feel to the game and remove taking half your HP from you while you’re wearing full plate for no reason by a longbow

mmm thats not entirely true, there is this game called life, the more you play it the more you end up hating it

it's an effective strike for hammer type weapons. As it should be. Especially on head hits. You're almost guaranteed a head hit with that attack a good amount of the time. Plus he was going up against pole arms and big ol' 1-2 shot weapons. he's displaying actual skill imo by using weapons that inflict smaller amounts of damage. And he's using a shield which seems to have been largely abandoned by the playerbase these days.
