At some point throughout my high school years, my teachers collectively just gave up on stopping me from reading during class. :D I do realize that other people's grades would probably suffer if they just zoned into a fictional universe while in class, but that's how I managed to read tons of books. (My english teacher would give the whole class some task and then come up to me to check out what I'm reading. It was a blast.)

Hi Zoe! I loved this video, and with me being in my first year of college I found it infinitely helpful. I also really liked your video on BookTube tips, I started a channel nearly a month ago and I spend countless hours looking for tips, and I don't think I'm ever going to stop looking for new tips or tricks haha. I had no idea about the blue light messing with sleep though so that's good to know. And as far as always having a book with me, I have quickly become "The guy with a book" around the school cafeteria. =) Thanks for posting this and your other videos, I can't wait to see the next one.

I used to always bring books with me to school, but last year and this year (I'm a junior) I don't because if I have extra time in class I study or work on homework. If I know I'll have a lot of time, like after and exam, then I'll bring a book, but not every day. I read on the bus ride to football games and band competitions to, because during band season I know I'll have that time every week and I know about how long the bus ride is.

Honestly, that's how I get most of my reading done too. Right before bed or because I carry a book with me everywhere. I have 45 minute commute to school and I fill it with reading. I read while I wait for class to start, or in waiting rooms, or like you said, if I finish an exam early... There are so many little moments in a day that you spend doing nothing at all and it's a great time to read! :)

I definitely agree with the audiobooks. I tend to get exhausted easily, and audiobooks just don't make me as tired as physical books. I also "read" around 3 audiobooks a month, normally 1 big one (800-1k pages) and it makes me feel really accomplished. This way I can read a couple books still, and listen to a few...5-6 books ain't too shabby when you're super busy/exhausted!

Gilmore Girls is the best thing. I started rewatching it last spring but then I stopped at some point. Should start again, I love it so much. Have you ever though of doing the Rory Gilmore reading challenge? Aka reading every single book Rory reads during the show? :) I started that ages ago and I've probably finished the first two episodes of the show. Though of course the beginning has a lot of whoppers like War and Peace and Moby Dick. It's really fun though, I recommend it. :)

That tip about picking up your book when not wanting to speak to anyone does not work for me. Whenever I'm reading anywhere in school my friends will specifically call my name a hundred times or do anything to bug me just to get me to stop reading. And they always happen to get me whenever the book gets interesting and I need to find out what happens and I just want to read for six days straight!

I read books in class when I was in school. My teachers knew, but I was doing good, so they didn't bother to discuss my study-method xD Oh, and that guy coming up to you while you read to ask questions? Thats my husband... Every day! Were done with dinner, he's on his computer and havent said anything while I clean up - he does it to, but it takes so long - so I sit down and read. One page in, and he remembered something he wanted to tell me...

A bit off topic, but does anyone else do work/revision whilst watching tv? This year i was sitting my AS levels and i did pretty much all my maths revision (which was doing past exam papers) while watching parks and recreation and got a good grade, probably wouldn't do it for other subjects but for maths it seams to work

I actually read more during school than vacations cuz I use a school bus and I stay quite a long time in it (an hour when coming back home and half an hour going to school) so I read in the bus !
