Hi Deome, thx for this vid. I have a problem and I hope you or anybody else can help me with this. I have installed the c4 1964 (automatic), all parts are new and it works fine exept the reverse part. what could and should I do? any help is welcome😆

So there is no checkball under the spring and plunger after you remove the strainer. Mine flew out on to the driveway while changing the strainer.The plunger is concave like a check ball may go under it. But here you show no check ball going in before the plunger and spring when replacing the strainer. So evidently there is not one. I have just FLAT FORGOTTEN. Thanks for the vid.

Depends on year model,note,the concave plunger goes against the VB PLATE THEN THE SPRING 🦉

Hi I have a C4 auto with a C8 casting number on the valve body. When I took the whole assembly apart, I had the puck and 2 check balls; however one of the balls is smaller than the other, about half the size. The problem is, I'm not sure which channels they should go into (all the videos / pictures I've seen state that the balls are the same size), I'm assuming one size should go into one pocket and same with the other? But which way round? I'm going to be fitting a transgo stage 1 kit (part number 47-1), where check balls are still required. Again, the instructions show the ball sizes to be the same. Do you know of any revisions / modifications to the C8 casting over the C7, that would require differmt size check balls?

Hi ! Your valve body was probably already modified with a shift kit, but without the doc, it's very difficult to know which shift kit was installed

Hi Deome! Thanks for the very useful tutorial! I would just have a question, with which product did you clean the parts? I actually have to rebuild my transmission completely and I would need to know how to clean all the internal parts (that I'm not replacing) myself, with what product? Thanks a lot for your help!

Hi +Sergio K !For the external parts, I use gasoline, and for the internal parts prefer petroleum jellyGood luck for your overhauling !!

+Deome's Workshop Great Thanks! Sorry for the naïve question but is the petroleum jelly what we call Vaseline in French? Then how do you use it to clean parts (never heard this), like rubbing with some clean cloth? And once done can you leave a jelly film on the part or do you have to use something else to remove any trace of the jelly before re-installing the part? Thanks again for your precious help!
