More or less. You also want to make sure you thoroughly clean the valve & stem of any powder residue and use a moisture trap on your charging line. Also, every 5 to 7 years its a good idea to have a hydrostatic test done on it to assure the integrity of the cylinder.

@@WitchidWitchid So how exactly *is* a hydrostatic test done? I've seen how Amerex will randomly test cylinders at the factory and fill them to the point they balloon up and burst in order to see where they rupture and at what pressure. But I don't think the same thing would be done to a model that's already been purchased and has been working.

@@Asertix357fill with water all the way and then pressurize it to the hydro test pressure (normally 585 psi) and if it busts then it's bad and if it doesn't it's good

I don’t recommend doing it by yourself, I recommend going to professional maintenance service because if you overload a little nitrogen, it can burst, explode and possibly injure yourself.
