This was a piece of art wrapped up in a rainbow. I couldn't use my controller for month because some way or another it was connected to my laptop and I could never disconnect it from the pc. This was a total godsend. Thanks so much

This works with brand new controllers both at have never been connected? I ended up just giving mine away and using a broke one but I’ll get it back if it will work with a brand new one that has never been connected to the ps4 before

@@karsenbalsor844 it could work, but you would need a controller already connected. If you have remote play set up, you can follow the steps of my video using a phone or tablet as a controller. Or you could connect a keyboard and follow the steps of my vid that way (according to @Raccoon, "X is enter, Esc is O and F3 is the options button." Otherwise, you will need to grab every micro USB cable you can find and plug each one to your controller and press the PS button. Not all cords work. Most cables are only designed to charge - the cable you use has to be able to charge AND do quick data transfer. Also, you may have the right cable, but the connector might be loose. If none of your cords work, you'll probably need to buy a new one - preferably the PS official cable which is about 10 dollars on Amazon and Gamestop.

@@carlosorozco1669 There is a setting to disable it, but as far as I can tell, no way to bypass it. If you have remote play set up, you can follow the steps of my video using a phone or tablet as a controller. Or you could connect a keyboard and follow the steps of my vid that way (according to @Raccoon, "X is enter, Esc is O and F3 is the options button." Otherwise, you will need to grab every micro USB cable you can find and plug each one to your controller and press the PS button. Not all cords work. Most cables are only designed to charge - the cable you use has to be able to charge AND do quick data transfer. Also, you may have the right cable, but the connector might be loose. If none of your cords work, you'll probably need to buy a new one - preferably the PS official cable which is about 10 dollars on Amazon and Gamestop.

It works normally. Use old controller, goto settings, go into Bluetooth devices, wait 60 seconds & scroll to bottom of devices list you'll see dualshock at very bottom. Everyone misses that, they never scroll to the fucking bottom of page do they assume there's a problem when there is none. I just paired my new controller with 40 seconds of removing it from box. Nobody ever scrolls down to the bottom of list of Bluetooth devices where the new controller is when it's plugged in. Hold ps & share button and then hit enter with old controller. Done.

This worked for me as well, thanks so so much. Another tip for you guys: If you don t have another controller, you can plug-in a keyboard in the PS4 and it will work fine. The ,,options menu” button is the F3 on the keyboard.

You came in HEAVY clutch. I’ve had this problem, 2 controllers only one works (and it’s faulty) so I got a new one today and I can’t connect it, it’s the same issue with the other one that won’t connect. All the other videos I watch don’t help at all and tell me the same thing over and over again but this video is the reason why I’m here right now chillin playing some ghost of Tsushima. God bless 🙏

Guys! This is actually the right solution. For those who don't have an extra controller, you can download the remote play app, and then make the whole process of forgetting the controllers, pairing them, and then connecting again. It worked for me, and took me less than 5 minutes. Good Luck!!!

Thank you bro ! One of my controllers USB port was not functioning anymore so I needed a new way to reconnect my controller to the PS4 after using it for Bluetooth for something else ! Much appreciated!

A lifesaver! The same thing was happening to me, I was struggling with this like about 2 days and feel super frustrated until I found your video!! Thanks a lot Scrob! Just to let you know (and if it helps anyone) : I didn't have another controller neither the possibility to have a new one, so what i did is get Remote Play for my phone and connect it to the controller (like the golden one), already have the PS4 connected to the same network as in my phone through Ethernet cable and voalá! Automatically, I got my phone as a controller in Remote Play!! I did everything just like you and got my "dead" controller back to life! Thank you a lot!!

HOLY CRAP IT WORKS!! My friend came over and connected the controller to their phone, me and my bf had issues trying to pair it back. It's heavily raining and he couldn't come over to try and figure it out, I've never touched a ps until a few months ago so I'm excited to tell him I managed to get it paired!! THANKS YOUUU!!!

YES YES THANK YOU! At this point I wasn’t expecting anything I did to work. Actually none of my controllers would connect, so I used remote play from my iphone to navigate to Bluetooth and forget the controllers. After holding the share and ps button on the controller until it blinks and plugging my controller into the ps4, it asked if I wanted to connect the device and I clicked yes. You are an actual fucking lifesaver. All I wanted to do was chill out and play some games but I was met with the worst troubleshooting nightmare I’ve ever experienced. I honestly thought nothing would work and your video saved my ass. Thank you so so much.
