A lot of people have asked me for my video and audio setup for my in-car videos! Here it is! This is EXACTLY how I mount my microphones and cameras to get the highest quality possible.
UPDATE: I realized my voice is only on the left channel... OOPS! Hilarious that this is a video outlining how to get GOOD sound and I totally biffed it.

Huge plus with the Tentacle Sync 32-bit float recorders is that you don't even have to set audio levels. It records in such a wide dynamic range, so you can adjust levels in your editing software after. Your only limitation is your actual microphone, which is why I use the Countryman B3 because it has a high sound limit.

This was super helpful man. Mounted my Sony a7c at Sebring and it drove ibis nuts with mostly unusable footage. Going to swap down to one my crop cameras and see how it does.

I'm glad this was helpful for you! I had the exact same setup before. A7C, but no matter how rigid I made the rigging, I still had micro-shakes because of the floating IBIS sensor. Try the ZV-E10!

Thanks for the mic recommendation. I’ve been considering a mic meant for recording brass instruments to record my intake and exhaust. I’ll check out theater stage mics as well now. Do you have a suction cup that you trust for external camera mounting on the car?

Depends on what camera you're mounting on the exterior. The Filmtools Gripper 3025 - 6" Suction / Vacuum Cup Camera Mount is super strong.

I believe the only camera that can use wireless mics is the Insta360 Ace Pro

@@BossBossRacing I think the DJI Action 4 camera can as well (since it can use DJI's wireless mic without a recorder). But are you saying that I can't plug in the Countryman B3 microphone directly into the camera with a 3.5mm to usb-c coverter?

@@WaksmanRacing you might be able to plug directly into the gopro with the converter. But the lavalier mic doesn't have a super long cable. Adding extension cables could potentially introduce more signal noise.
