This was done using cycles, but in tutorial discussed both eevee and cycles.

When I apply the curve modifier, the "Branch" becomes much bigger in width and won't follow the path. I have done everything before 5:11

It gives better result with finer textures and doesn't smudge out details. for viewport optix is better.
