One of the most popular questions I get is, "How do I fix a broken multi-pen pencil?" or a variant on that, "How do I refill my multi-pen pencil?" This video will solve those very questions.

You can also refill it without unscrewing it. First press the pencil selector, next press and hold the refill button at the top. Now you can easily insert a pencil lead

How timely, I recently got a Pilot Hi-Tec-C Coletto (a 500 and a 1000) gels with a pencil option. They're much easier to change as the hinged top opens and you drop in any color you like for each slot (the slider is part of the cartridge) so you can make some interesting combinations.

My lead was falling out and I fixed it by taking it apart and knocking the back of the mechanism against the table several times. Some small lead particles fell out and it went back to pushing the lead correctly

Do you know if the diameter of a coleto hi tech c is the same as a D1 refill? I’m wondering if can cut those to fit a D1 pen?

Hey, I have a pilot 4+1 with a broken mechanical pencil component, I can’t seem to find a replacement part from pilot, have you had any experience with this pencil? I was wondering if another manufacturer’s part would work.

Have you tried pulling out the entire mechanical pencil? Or have you tried switching the mechanical pencil part with a pen refill? I was hoping to switch out mine and don't know if it would work. Hoping you've had some experience. Thanks :)

i’ve got a pen like this and the led it comes with and won’t fit down the metal part where it’s ment to come out of. it kinda stops before coming out and gets stuck

I have a munhwa pen which in 4 colour ball point pen 0.7 and 1 mechanical pencil, and its such pain in the head as i cant refill it nor write with in because it doesn't have pushing down from the top (if you have it please make tutorial for it)

Is it possible to remove the pencil completely and swap in another pen cartridge in its place? So in this case it would now be a 4 instead of a 3+1?

Is it possible with this or any other "Multi-pen Pencil" to remove the pens replace them with the mechanical pencil in effect creating a multi-color mechanical pencil? This would be very handy. The idea I have is to use four different color leads in one unit. Thanks for any advice. 😃👍

Generally no because the lead advance mechanism is different then the pen slider. You can experiment but it’ll be be hit and miss

@@unsharpen I checked around. It is possible with Pilot Multi-Pen Body, Hi-Tec-C Coleto 500, Black Body (LHKC-50C-B). But it would cost a fortune lol. 🤣Pen body is $6.70 and the mechanical pencil units are $7.96 each. I'm going to experiment. I like to sketch and draw. I could do my intial sketch lines in different colors, one for foreground, one for background etc. I'm trying to figure out ways to reduce the load in my tactical military style backpack.

Didn't help. I wanted to know how to refill the ink parts. And this guy just focuses on the pencil bit (the easy bit) Can you refill the ink on these ? I just lost 5 min of my life due to a bad Google search suggestion. Thanks google.

It’s called a “D1” refill. Many brands sell them.

Well, I thought the title was pretty clear. And as a first-time multipen user, it clearly showed me how to refill the lead, which was what I searched for. The ink part I thought was more straightforward-just pull and stick it back in. Thanks Unsharpen for another excellent vid.
