Привет из России. Клапаны у зажигалок бывают разные. Купил зажигалку на переделку за 150р. Клапан сзади был добротный, но когда я его вынул, оказалось, что он не подходит. Долго обьяснять почему, но дам совет - берите зажигалку с нерегулируемой силой пламени на клапане, где нельзя подкрутить отверткой. У автора кстати такая.

Seems to use the butane at about twice the rate but it's cheaper so all's good. I use it for hunting and it seems noisier too than originals but still a money saver.

What brand lighter have you found to have the best valve for this application? I tore into a lighter and the valve was totally different than the one in the video. It was actually about a 1-1/2" long and brass. I want one like the one that you use in the video. Thanks and God Bless! Great Idea BTW!

You seem confident that the epoxy will hold the valve, however I wouldn't feel comfortable relying on this in the long term as a fireball could result if the seal between the valve and the hole you've drilled fails. Maybe consider adding a thread to the valve, and a slightly smaller thread on the hole you've drilled using a tap and die, then you'll be able to screw them together. This will give you a bigger margin of safety should the seal fail. You could also use plastic cement which will melt the plastics together to form a strong bond after you've screwed the pieces together - although you'd have to check the plastic compatibility.

after first refill you should test it by soaking in water and check for bubbles

Gentlemen... just how much time do you have on your hands to do ALL this lol ? Seems to me to be one of those "mysterious" projects that you're forever working on when the wife wants something doing 🤣🤣. Don't get me wrong ... I'm definitely interested in saving money AND making less waste but Holy Crap this appears to be a somewhat lengthy and labour intensive alternative. Also concerned about the safety aspect with the glue as pointed out by another viewer.

So why the f*** don’t they MAKE these to be refillable? Greedy pricks. We have to pay for the disposal on top.

This is NOT THE BEST WAY!!! search more!! The best way pulls the bras valve and then a screw is used to remove the inverted check valve that prevents regular filling through the normal valve system. Then the first o-ring fitted bras part is inserted back to its original position. That is a much much better way than this method.
