Hey Everyone,
In this video you can clear all your doubts regarding the Diesel Particulate filter or DPF in all New Innova Crysta & Fortuner.
DPF system Functioning:
The below are the two Warning which will come on car when DPF system regeneration is required:
1. DPF system full visit your dealer.
2. DPF system Full Manual regeneration required.
The below process needs to be done.
A) In condition 1 don't drive vehicle for long time visit Toyota dealership.
Following precautions needs to be taken:
1. Do not do the regeneration in close parking/ area with dry grass/ or some person is near the car.
2. Do not panic if white smoke comes/ A smell can also be felt.
3. Idle speed may raise automatically. ( All these are not malfunction)
B) In condition 2 following measures needs to be taken:
1. Stop the vehicle do not switch off the engine.
2. Shift to P in Automatic Car and N in Manual car.
3. Pull the parking brake.
4. Check the surrounding and ensure there is no flamable material around.
5. Engine should be warm up if not depress accelerator pedal for warmup ( however this will be needed only in extreme cold conditions)
6. Press the DPF switch automatically the engine Idling speed will increase when display will show a message that " Manual Regeneration in process"
7. Regeneration will take 30-40 minutes.
8. When Regeneration will be finished the Idling speed will become normal.
9. Regeneration system may not work at a height of 4000 M or 13000 sqft above the sea level.
10. If needed in some situation the Accelerator needs to be depressed by the driver until the RPM reached 3000 RPM.
11. If Coolant or Exhaust temperature is low the regeneration may take long time.
13. After Regeneration is finished race the accelerator several time so that the exhaust system gets cleaned.
14. In Innova Crysta post November 2020 and Fortuner from January 2021 you will be getting a bars between 1-10 on the MID. The below is the reading of the same:
a) 1-3 is normal.
b) 4-6 The DPF will generate automatically.
c) 7-9 Manual regeneration message will pop up on the MID.
d) 10 You have to visit Toyota Dealership to get the DPF clean.
