Noticing chest pain is a very common symptom of anxiety. For most people, that chest pain is really overwhelming and scary.
Many people visit the doctor or ER because of their chest pain, only to find out there isn't anything wrong with their health. It is their anxiety that is causing their chest pain.
What is the cause?
✔ It's the result of stress hormones (cortisol and adrenaline) in your body, triggering a stress response that you feel in your chest.
✔ You have gone into "fight or flight mode"
✔ You are having that compression in your chest as a response to the stress hormones
What should you do?
➔ Know that your body is actually trying to HELP you, not harm you
➔ Your body is trying to send a signal to you that your anxiety has spiked and you need to relax
➔ Thank the sensation
➔ Work through the sensation until you can relax and the chest pain eases
➔ Breath through the sensation
➔ Acknowledge it is a stress response
➔ Keep breathing, as you feel your feet on the floor
➔ Continue to thank your body
➔ Imagine that your chest is softening

It’s only when I have the time to sit back and think about it.. when I’m working or doing daily activities nothing crosses my mind but when I sit around alone I freak myself out over and over again

I do also experience anxiety related chest pain very frequently. They occur mostly when i try to speak to someone. It just pops out of nowhere, which eventually makes my words unclear during conversation.

If you start to practice this, you’ll notice the sensations earlier. You’re missing the signs early in, but they’re there.

Thank you for this. I will relay this to my daughter whose son, at age 13, is experiencing this type of chest pain. This is due to him being bullied at school. He experiences this chest pains and has been seen by the doctor. He has had his heart checked and had blood tests done. There is nothing clinically wrong with him. I hope this breathing technique will help him to relax and deal with the stress he is experiencing.

I have pain all over my body... it is miserable. I got checked by doctors, they found nothing major. Great news - but how can I relax? But they pain is pretty constant these days... well today it's constant. Pain in groin, inner thighs, and neck, face burning from anxiety as it does sometimes. Pain is unpleasant. I will try this.

I never used to get chest pains until I started my new job a year ago. It causes me so much anxiety and stress, but I can’t seem to quit due to the fact of the unknown. It’s so hard and I don’t know what to do..

Man check your priorities 9 to 5 isn't worth it if it can't give you the time you need for yourself Also, exercise every day regardless of how you feel, most stress should leave within weeks. Stress happens when we give it too much, don't make time for it.

Awwww I’m going through it right now my chest is tight and when that happens I get nervous and that’s why the anxiety start I’m trying to relax my mind I used my asthma pump and that made me more nervous now I’m on my bed trying to watch relaxing videos my back hurts as well smh I hate this feeling hope you feel better

@@riz-rq9wr Aw, hello, my darling. I'm sorry, I never saw this. I know, it's such an overwhelming feeling, isn't it? I often feel torn whether to lie there and communicate with my body and experience the process that unfolds, or to simply try to distract myself with other things. It's a mixture of both, in my life, I think. We're not always strong and gutsy enough to head IN to those overwhelming feelings, are we? So sometimes we just wait out the storm by trying to get comfortable and watching a video or something. I'm feeling absolutely fine now. It comes and goes, doesn't it? Something I've been trying throughout the day, that I feel like has truly helped me, is literally trying to induce chest pain and heart symptoms with my mind. I know it sounds crazy, but it fascinates me and makes me feel empowered, just knowing that I can create these things. Even in typing this, my heart is already feeling tight and uncomfortable, which is fascinating, because it felt totally fine before this! That's how powerful are minds are. I also speak very lovingly to my beautiful body, that never ever stops working as hard and smart as it can to heal me, and to keep me going and doing. It's so lovely, and I feel blessed to have this body. I will speak to my heart in moments of tension - I know, I'm a hokey hippie-lady, haha. "I hear you talking to me, lovely heart. Keep going, I'm listening. I'm scared, but I'm listening.". It's interesting to know that our minds can create the most powerful, vivid symptoms that can literally resemble a heart attack to where a lot of us end up in the emergency room thinking we're dying! It feels farfetched to think that it's concocted in the head, but it's bizarrely common! After I send this comment, I'm going to sit here for a while and invite my heart to produce sensations. This will not hurt us, they're just feelings. Good luck, love.

Ive been having chest tightness for a few days. It comes out of no where. I feel I have muscle soreness, but definitely anxiety. Calming down like you said in this video helped me a lot i was just thinking about to the Er. But i went twice in my life for this and turned out to be anxiety and muscle soreness... thank you for calming me down!

Thank you this helped. My anxiety chest pain also happens when I am getting ready for bed. This is because I have bad sleep paralysis and it really stresses me out. And if I’m not anxious it gets better and sometimes doesn’t happen that night. After I have been doing this I only get some and little to no sleep paralysis. Thank you!

@@thiolaogunremi4104it’s true. i had a sleep paralysis experience once and although i couldn’t move nor speak, something told me to think Jesus name. then i shouted in my mind JESUS! and it completely vanished and i fell back asleep after like i was depleted of all my energy

If you can, try and relax when you have sleep paralysis. Calm your mind and your body, and see if you can actually escalate it into astral projection. Sleep paralysis is the perfect springboard for that, but you should only try that once you have learned to calm yourself. Also, instead of trying to actually move, "will yourself" and envision floating around your room. If it all works out, you just might do exactly that 😉 Good luck 🙏

@@HeatherRiderCoaching I will give it a try this evening. Had chest pain while mountain biking at lunch today which is rare and it gets my mind going. So I just tore again and everything was better. Plus I get that site cartilage and chest muscle that feels like your heart

I have chest pain come and go left and right chest almost 3 years , i have cardiophovia many years im 26 i went to cardiologist i did echocardiogram ekg blood test, he told me that i don't have problem its anxiety I can't control that when i have stab pain shooting pain like pinches in my left chest, 😢 i live in a prison some advice, I'm scaring every day

Recently happened with me. I was about to passout due to low BP in my office and guess what i was literally scared and after few days I was feeling my chest is heavy. Trying these techniques it helped to ease the pressure. But how much time it takes to normalise this chest budning ?

Man,.. I ended up having an X-ray to confirm that it isn't Cancer or cardiovas disease. It turned out to be anxiety and my chest is clear from any medical concerns.

How do I know it's NOT a heart attack?? I was at home making pancakes when I experienced chest pains which also shot through my back, I got dizzy and i felt I was running out of air. Lucky the clinic with my GP's office is a block away so I stumbled in there and they took my stats and put me on EKG rigth away and it was just anxiety.... Never happened to me before.

I have been having a tingling sensation over my head and my ears. As soon as this happens I feel extremely anxious and I become restless (I literally can’t help it). My neck and shoulder become stiff. I feel extremely dizzy and then I can’t breathe normally. I get even more anxious and can’t fall asleep at all. It gets worse in the morning. That’s why I have developed a fear of going to sleep because I know I am gonna get another anxiety as soon as I wake up. How can I get rid of this situation? I seriously need help. i have been suffering for months now. P.s. I am already on medication but that doesn’t help much. 😞

@@QueenPiggysYT14 keeping ur mind busy is always the best bet.. I’ve noticed I tend to get anxious the most when I sit around and think but when I’m working or whatever I’m fine for the most part.. big crowded areas always give me anxiety still but I’ll always be that way no matter what
