Just did this mod and i can tell you it is amazing. The initial wieght was 80g and it is now 66g. The only modes i didnt do were the batery and i didnt some of the bottom shell because i was scared i would destroy it. Another thing besides the weight reduction i noticed is that the g pro wireless now has evenly distribuited weight and like the superlight X. Before the mod most of the weight was in the back now it is well balanced. Tyvm Sir

Finally attempted this project after couple months of watching this vid once in a while. Made mine 67 g without cutting the front base and leaving the mouse wheel stabilizers since it felt wobbly after removing them and also kept most of the screws. Was rather easier than I thought. But not recommending it for non handy people to do this project as it requires alot of caution. Overall my mouse seems much lighter but slightly more front heavy (tho it's light) and worth the effort. Thanks for the tutorial. Next up is SteelSeries rival 3 wireless.

Dope video, just the kind of thing I like to see. Not my usual modding area, didn't realise this was a thing. Might I suggest a Dremel, plus a icelolly stick, some glue and sandpaper? That plastic removal would've been faster, with much less danger of cracking, and the improvised wooded stick sander has just the right amount of flex. Just keep the Dremel speed low 😁

This is really nice to see since it really makes it the king among light mouses with the only argument against it being the shape and price for some . Now I would love to see a weight reduction of the G502 Hero or Lightspeed since those mices really need it. Or maybe a mod for the Lightspeed to make it work with normal AA or AAA batteries?

Hehe, the GPW is a tricky one as it has a lot of parts well screws. The g305 might be an easier one to start. Skatez, I'm undecided as there is little difference on the GPW as the stock stakes are good. If you don't like the sharp edges then atm I would pick Corepad, Hotline or Hyperglide. Nice video. I basically did the same thing, but didnt cut out the back plastic where u could screw into the outer shell. I also had multiple copies of gpw, then I found out that the front pcb holder that you took it out, it makes it unstable for both scroll wheel and mouse clicks. They click deeper and respond slower, so I left it in there. Overall, nice video, keep it up man. I also recommend putting the battery somewhere else in the back bc theres just way more weight in the front area and that makes it uneven, so I like to put the battery in the back right, so it can be more even over all. Edit: spelling fixes
@Beardedbob5 жыл бұрын
Kind to sss you have modded it also. Did you drill the shell if so how much extra weight did you get out of it? I'll have to test the buttons further with that part removed as I've not felt a dramatic change. What good is this part can be put back in as its not a perm change
@Yukinomouse5 жыл бұрын
@@Beardedbob I dont have a exact measurement thing, it only measures in whole number, not in decimal, so it was around 66 grams. After drilling holes, it was 65, I only drilled the bottom plate tho. Not the top shell, cuz I dont feel confident enough to drill in pattern. Its not really damaging to the clicks, but they just click deeper and obviously takes longer time to come back up. The scroll wheel gets less clicky also due to removing the holder that was holding the wheel. Overall for me, getting rid of the front pcb holder didnt affect anything, except it ruin the clicks a bit and drilling out the holes didnt affect that much either. Still your mod is way ligther than mine(65) at 60 grams, but I really want the solid feeling of my mouse, so I didnt get rid of any screws or any cut out on the frame, only some holes :)
@Beardedbob5 жыл бұрын
I'm trying to think of a way that will allow me to drill in lines, so it doesn't just look a mess, but so far I've come up with zero ideas lol. I think the 65g is a decent reduction and the extra 5g might not be worth the change in the feeling. Its all preference I'll have to compare the distance the buttons travel now to my original GPW.

Nice job. I'm thinking about sticking the sides in but tbh I haven't noticed they are missing.

I used this a year later instead of buying the GPX Superlight. Funny how logitech followed this tutorial, it removed 2 side buttons, the profile button and cut down the endoskeleton.

It’s on a different ribbon cable so that might have failed. You can get a replacement or chat to me over on shop.Beardedbob.com as I can repair it

The plate over the scroll wheel i dont think is needed but it does keep the left and right click from rattling. They get loose without it
@Beardedbob3 жыл бұрын
Just keep the left and right clicks screwed down and all will be fine 👍

Probs get it down to 55 when the shell is drilled to the extreme great video and can see this took you alot of time
@Beardedbob5 жыл бұрын
55 would be decent but it depends how the shell feels after I guess. Yeah this was a mission, if you want to do it you need to put aside some time lol.
@HazzMazz5 жыл бұрын
@@Beardedbob yeah depends how it feels maybe alot of sanding unfortunately I loved the mouse but not the shape so got the new g703 light speed but I'm not bothered about the extra weight it's about comfort and I can aim well with it
@Beardedbob5 жыл бұрын
If you can aim, then that's all that counts :-p. Weight and shape are all personal so you just need to find what works for you. I'm still a secret lover of the M65 from Corsair. I've bought the Elite version so it will be interesting to see what I think now as I last used the M65 pro back in 2017 while playing PUBG. God I miss playing it.
@HazzMazz5 жыл бұрын
@@Beardedbob yes agreed find what comfortable for you the m65 I didn't know what it was until I looked it up guess it goes unnoticed and yes 2017 pubg days I still play it now its the only game that if your in top 5 feels like your having a heartattack
@Beardedbob5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it's not one people talk about and it's not a looker either lol. You can't beat the rush. It's hard to control the mouse though if you aren't used to it haha....When the Latency got bad on Shanok that's when we stopped playing it and we haven't really returned. We haven't found another BR game though to replace it.

Hey Bob. I recently bought a G Pro Wireless for a good price (70$). I see that you have finger marks on your left click(the shiny circle). I was curious about after how many months of usage did that appear. I have it too on my mouse, but for 70$ that being the only problem, i don't mind :D(This is how it looks like: imgur.com/a/ehYzTPO ). And is there anything to do to make it look like it used to other than painting the whole mouse ? Great video btw.
