Did it this method... it worked 👍 - I was a bit worried about breaking the glass so I enabled the heated windscreen 1st, waited for that to go off, then heated with hair dryer in loose circles around the 3m tape.... I found pulling with a constant force like a slow oozy drip worked a treat rather than yanking / jerking it off... Cheers 🍻

Haven’t tried it, but I think letting the sun heat up the windshield on a hot day might be an easy way to remove the tape. Plus, the sun will evenly heat the entire windshield.

i think i'd need to be careful when using a heat gun as it puts out so much more heat, it might crack the glass?

Would the adhesive still work again after? I installed my rear dash cam upside down. I doesn't really matter but if it's simple enough, I might try to heat it up, flip it, and stick it back on.

i wonder if the everyday dental floss or old credit / loyalty card approach outlined in this video for 3m adhesive phone grips [ kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bdmTmdGCrsC7ipc.html ] would also work on these 3m adhesive to glass application scenarios? the other video suggests that the adhesive is engineered to provide pull strength but not sheer strength which is a design point you can use to make removal easy.

People should be extra careful when using adhesive mounts on tinted windows. Tints are, much like the 3M tape, a film. Pulling off a device glued with 3M tape can easily rip the tint film.

Be careful if you have rock chip nearby cuz it gonna crack your windshield especially doing it in the cold weather.
