How to remove a Haworth Panel

Haworth Unigroup panel systems use rails and hinges. You generally can find a cantilever in the install and use it as a tool to remove the rails from the panels. Make sure to remove the power connectors and top caps prior to panel removal.

Thanx, I had to take a room full of panels, desktops and cabinet drawers apart. I was good till I got to seperating the panels. This saved alot of time. Dont forget the outlet string connectors. Just squeeze the tabs on top and bottom and pull the 8 pin connector out towards you.

Good point. I have gone ape before and just busted them out. Also you might have a flex connector hooked to the adjacent panel that needs to be removed prior to removing the panel.

Nice. Also check for the locking clip inside the panel. Be sure it's flipped open, otherwise it'll fly out broken!

I don’t know if you are still active here, but if so, can you tell me how to remove the desktop from the wall brackets? The brackets have catches that mostly point down, but one points up and acts to lock everything in place. There are no visible bolts, screws or anything that I can remove.

The Haworth work surfaces are connected to the cantilevers with a bracket screwed onto the bottom of the work surface that slides into the channel of the cantilevers. To remove push the table towards the back panel and lift slightly, then pull forward. I grab the panel with my hands and use my hips to push the work surface in and lift. Once you do one the rest will be simple.

I installed Haworth from '89-'94 in California. You forgot to bend back the top clip before hitting up on the side rail. You can hear the metallic twang just as the panel is removed. Rookie mistake. Lol

It's not a custom tool. You can get one from an already installed work surface. They are called cantilevers. I just use them upside down to move the rail up.
