I have just applied this on a keychain minifiguere I had and it worked perfectly! In the video the metal is heated up for like 30 seconds and the chain remained silver, however for me it only took about 10 seconds to heat up and being able to pull it off, but the chain turned black (probably because my candle was hotter and it roasted the chain). No damage to the lego pieces, though, which is amazing because now you can use them with other minigifures! Thanks for the tutorial!

Just tried this with my golden minifigure keychain and it works like a charm. Thank you!!! 😁😁😁 EDIT: Added tip, if your minifigure has a fancy headgear like Lady Liberty, then protect it by wrapping parts closest to the flame in aluminum foil.

Thanks so much!!! This really help so much man.... u helped me save so much money! In my country’s lego store they sell minifigs that cost a bomb by itself, but they sell keychains... now i can save money!

you can use a dot of hot glue to cover the hole and some paint :) If you have a soldering iron also it will be safer than a candle. the heat will be more concentrated and not as likely to warp the head

Well, Ninjago used to have those spinjitzu (or however you spell it) sets where you got a minifigure and a like spinning thing.. So you could tecnically get a minifigure without buying the whole set without keychains. That was in the old days :(
