Really, Really appreciated this video. I replaced my mirror today. His instructions were great. Here are a few additional tips if you are completely new to auto repair. To give you a sense of how new I am, I literally had to buy a screwdriver set last night because I didn't own one. First two screws are easy, but prying off the plastic housing that holds your power windows and locks is quite scary. I had to pry and pull so hard that when it finally came free I thought I had broken it. You will have to pull on it like you're not afraid to break it. This may be the normal level of force that mechanics apply to things, but it is way more force than I felt comfortable with. But I said a prayer before hand and just went for it. It released with a bang. And praise the Lord nothing broke. It took me about 4x as much force to remove the plastic housing from the armrest as he appears to use in the video. My guess is that the armrest on that car had already been removed a number of times. You're going to have to be strategically aggressive with it. Trying to get the white clips out that connect the power windows and locks was surprisingly difficult. He makes it look super easy in the video, but I think my unfamiliarity with automotive clips made it perplexing. They don't just pull out. From working with all the clips here, I realized that you always have to press in on some part of the male end of the plug while pulling out at the same time. Examine the male end of the clips for something that looks like it could be part of locking mechanism and is not part of the basic shape of the clip. This goes for all clips. Look for the part of the plug that looks like a locking mechanism. Whatever you see that looks different is the correct spot. You can try squeezing on that spot while pulling up. I usually found I had to press on that spot with a screwdriver while pulling up with my other hand or prying up with another screwdriver and then the plugs would come apart. What took him 10 seconds to do in the video took me 20 minutes of trial and error. But once you have a feel for how these clips work based on the instructions above, I think you'll find them easier. Subsequent clips were much easier once I figured out these rules. Next came the door clips. These also take bout 3-4x the force as is demonstrated in the video and showed no sign of budging until they gave way with a bang. My recommendation is start creating an opening in the same place where the guy does in the video and peer inside. You will see one of the white plastic fastener that is fastening the door tightly. Stick your screw driver right at that spot and pry with the tip of your screw driver directly against the fastener. It will pop out. The next fasteners will come out much easier than that one. And you'll be able to work your way around in no time. When you've gone all the way around, you'll find it still won't release. There is one fastener that is not along the edge, but is more towards the middle. You'll be able to tell where it is, because that is the area that won't release from the door. Pull on there also and it will release. Everything else is pretty straightforward. I was using a hand screw driver and wasn't able to turn the three screws going into the mirror by hand. Thankfully the screw driver set I bought had a couple of socket tips and I was able to turn them with that. If you're working with just a screw driver by hand you might get stymied there. This video is wonderful. Just watch it a few times and go for it. Thank you SSP for making this video.

Excellent video! Especially useful are the little tips about what will most likely go wrong with clips and the like. With this expert guidance, I did a mirror swap for my Dad in about 6 minutes, no hiccups. Thanks guys!
