Links to Products Below: Do you have green pond water that looks like PEA SOUP? We have the solution. If you are local to us, mention this video and tell us you have a pond worthy of the GREEN WATER CHALLENGE. We have a special offer for you and WHEN WE CLEAR YOUR POND, we will feature it on our KZfaq Channel.
This is a followup video to a pond that suffered from NEW POND SYNDROME and in the linked video at the end you get to see just how aweful it was.
Join us for a few minutes as we give you tips, do's and don'ts..
Here is a link to the products we used in the video :).....
Beneficial Bacteria amzn.to/47LoaEp
Diatom Treatment amzn.to/4bkAL4z
Here's instructions for use.....
For a full sun exposure such as this pond has, you want to use a photosynthetic bacteria, which is why I recommend this Beneficial bacteria. amzn.to/42descD
The more sun, the better it works. It especially works well on ponds that have a lot of surface area like an ecosystem pond - as well as concrete ponds. A little bit goes a very long way!
Dose your pond 3x the recommended dose every 3 days until water starts to clear, then maintain dosage a normal rates weekly throughout the pond season where your pond water temperature is above 58 degrees.
During the winter months, switch to a winter blend of your choice and as the spring comes, begin to treat again with this formula. amzn.to/47KnD5p
All the best to you and your pond!
Again, I'm easily reached at the toll free number during regular business hours in California.

I just subscribed to your channel. I saw the first video prior to this follow up vid. Are you in California? My dad and I need help with the algae problem with his koi pond. It's like no matter what products and methods we've tried, the algae issue stays the same. We've pretty much given up almost. Any advice would be very much appreciated! I like your positive energy and enthusiasm. My dad's pond was build only last September 2019 so it hasn't been a year yet but the algae is always a problem.

how will you otherwise clean it out, without chemicals? I have my velvet layer, but had to add salt to calm some new comers. Now my velvet layer is coming loose and it is a extreme process to clean my sand filter everyday to get rid of the algae.

I got a pond that has a sand filter its quite large , approximately 10x22x3 it has no plants in the water, every time I run the water through the filter it looses a significant amount of water, I suspect the water fall , the pipes are not brocken I pressure test them, and yes the water is green. I live in the western part of Washington state . Can you please give me some suggestions on what to do?

Then the water is stagnant? I'd suggest installing an aerator to keep some movement and put mosquito fish in to control mosquitoes. Plant it with water hyacinth, water lettuce, and iris. Shade it as best as you can and use a quality beneficial bacteria that contains barley.

Hellllp lol my uv light killed the green pea algae in my new pond. I didnt have fish in it at the time, water parameters were finally perfect so I added my fish. All the dead algae was resting on the bottom and sides of my liner. The koi from swimming around stirred it all up! Didnt realize it was going to be this big of a problem otherwise I would have vacuumed it first. Now its too late to do that. How do i remove it faster? I've washed my filter media 2x today and it just keeps clogging, i know if i keep cleaning the filter pads it will eventually clear but theres gotta be a more efficient way, right? Any advice would mean soooo much to me. Ty
@ColumbiaWaterGardens
@ColumbiaWaterGardens 2 жыл бұрын
Honestly aside from a vacuum I'd stir it up and let the filters pull it out if you're looking for a quick fix. If you have a skimmer you can put some pillow batting into the leaf trap and clean it daily as well. If you were my client, I'd do a drain, rinse, refill and get it all out manually.
@high_fructose_corn_syrup
@high_fructose_corn_syrup 2 жыл бұрын
@@ColumbiaWaterGardens i thought about draining the whole thing but my pond water literally just got to the right conditions. It was months of waiting and i even used ammonium chloride to feed the pond over n over and over again for the good bacteria to feed off of, otherwise i would drain it. I actually did add poly in the skimmer as well. Do you know how long it will take to clear up? I JUST added my koi today and now we cant even see them. (Video of me doing it is on my KZfaq) im pretty bummed. Will all the excess gunk make it hard for them to breathe? And thank you so much for taking the time to reply to me!!!!!! Definitely gonna sub! 🥰
@ColumbiaWaterGardens
@ColumbiaWaterGardens 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the sub! Here's the thing.... a thin layer, an inch or less, will get stirred up by the fish and mechanically removed. A thicker layer may just take a little more work. Is your pond rock or bare liner?
@high_fructose_corn_syrup
@high_fructose_corn_syrup 2 жыл бұрын
@@ColumbiaWaterGardens hi, and ty again for the reply. You're very kind to take time to help me. The layer was less than 1/8 of an inch. It was basically just enough to cover the whole liner, sides and all. Its a dedicated koi pond so its bare liner. So i should wipe all the sides to dislodge it all from the sides and just keep cleaning/swapping the poly batting?
@ColumbiaWaterGardens
@ColumbiaWaterGardens 2 жыл бұрын
Great question. DO NOT WIPE it down. You will destroy the bacteria colony that is growing there. Leave it alone and it will grow into a nice velvety blanket of algae. This is your ecosystem starting up. Disturbing it will set you back to ground zero. The fish will do all the work.... feed them less frequently and they will do the majority of the cleaning. This is an EXCELLENT VIDEO!!! I'll shoot one this week and mention you. 😎👍 It's late, headed to bed. You can do this! Good luck :) -Carl

Good evening John, Thanks for your comment :) I have replied to this question several times in the comments section of this video and and empty-minded as I am, it just occurred to me to leave the links in the description as well. I added the link to the description of both videos and I'm adding those links to this comment and the other one that you left. I'm very sorry I forgot to add those links, it's an oversight.
