Glad I found you!My oven brand new!Have not used the oven.I put a pice of feul in there,was wanting to protect it.Had not baked anything.Today,I opened the oven door.Wanted to look at it,was thinking of baking something.When I noticed the thin feul,from dollar store had just gotten stuck.Trying to get it off.I like the tip,a bout,the silicon liner.Will try and clean it,then put liner Thank you

I would like to say something about foil sticking to the bottom of self cleaning ovens. I've also heard others say the same thing. There is a good chance that it might totally adhere to the bottom of the oven so that there is no way to remove it. My husband accidentally ruined the bottom of the first self cleaning oven we had because (as we always did with any previous oven) he put foil on the bottom. Neither he nor I knew not to do that. That foil was never going to be able to be removed because parts of it basically became part of the oven floor. Only way to fix it would have been to take out the oven floor and replace it with a new one, which we weren't going to do...so we lived with it. I've got a new oven now (several years later) and we will never make that mistake again!

Soaking with soapy hot water doesn't work. Not at all. I'm going to try something different.

YES. I have used for a few years. Works great. I will say that it develops a whitish film after awhile.

@@AskAngelaBrown yes. But it is worth the discoloration. Should have added that to my comment. Now, if someone could find a similar product for the back of the oven. :-) By the way, NOTHING beats a self cleaning oven. Sadly, I am in a rental where the owners broke the lock to the door and are unable to use the self cleaning feature. They started using easy off ----ugh. Love your channel. Not in business, but like to keep a clean house. 😁

Wow! This one is definitely for me, I hate the sticky yuck 🤢....Angie, extra question: how to insulate around the oven, so it doesn't burn anyone walking by?...just got a new kitchen (very small space) but my oven is right next to the doorway, when people walk by, they can potentially burn themselves, is there any guards you suggest?

The oven is not supposed to have heat outside the oven. If you have that problem contact the manufacturer immediately. Something is wrong.

I was wondering with the 409 or EazyOff oven cleaner are you able to use one of those SOS soft steel wool safely in the oven because of a chemical mixture.

Yes. Just wipe down the walls between the chemicals so you are not mixing. The SOS pads are usually the last step where you go in and get the last bit of gunk that the Easy Off didn't get.

I love your information but have to slightly disagree with using those liners on the oven floor. Most liner companies state to put the bottom rack at the lowest level and put the liner on that rack. Also many if not all oven manufacturers state that putting any liner on the floor can void the warranty. I've had no problems using both the aluminum (not foil) liners and the silicone liners on the bottom rack. If a person needed both racks at the same time for baking, check the liner instructions to see if it is one that can have dishes or pans directly on top while heated.

Dear Angela: Could you please send me the link for oven floor liners. The ones on Amazon state that for non-visible elements like I have in my oven - (why aluminum burnt on oven floor), to put on bottom rack and I would like to put on bottom of oven like you indicated. There are a number of liners that are 16.25 inches by 23 inches and that doesn't completely cover bottom but I guess it's better than nothing. I need to order this item yesterday and thank you. Angela, I appreciate your help but the aluminum foil on my oven floor is not coming off. A certain amount has but there are a lot of knicks in enamel plus black spots, etc. that won't come off how hard I try and AMAZON IS OUT OF STOCK ON THESE LINERS. Deb

Just hot water and soap from the sink is fine. I wouldn't turn the oven on as you might get burned. Think of it like soaking a pan after cooking.

For the glass you can use your regular oven cleaner (Easy Off) or whatever brand you are using. You may need to use a plastic razor to get off any extra ick. This is the combo I use amzn.to/31TznXt. Soak the foil and use a plastic razor once soaked. Think of it like soaking the gunk in the bottom of a pan, soapy water for an hour or two should do the trick.

Unfortunately my aluminum foil is MELTED and attached itself to the painted floor of the oven!! It wasn't from a gooey dish that spilled as it bubbled.

A pumice stone can scratch and damage the surface. I'd suggest to use non-abrasive cleaners and tools in this case

Have you tried Bar Keepers Friend Powdered Cleanser? (paid link amzn.to/44b3pAu) If you make a paste and leave the paste on for 2 minutes you can scrub most burned on gunk from ovens, pots and pans, stoves, etc.

ok, going to look for that razor because we bought a house and I have NO IDEA what is melted onto the stovetop burner. brillo, easy off and my steam cleaner isnt cutting it. so I think razor is the last resort. will soak first.

Yes, in most cases. The key is soaking it to loosen it up.

I'm sorry to hear that the scraper didn't work as expected. Have you tried a different cleaning method, like using a paste of baking soda and water, or a commercial oven cleaner?

Had my brand new stove an entire 5 hours and did the same thing! Neither me nor my daughter noticed the big bold words that said DO NOT PUT FOIL ON BOTTOM! Caught 75% of the foil before it stuck. When it cools down, I’ll try to get the rest……

The aluminum foil is realy stuck! Soap and water will not do. Easy off oven cleaner works. Spray it on a cold oven bottom and let it set overnight. Scrap with a hard plastic. Repeat as necessary
